A costume girl suddenly appeared in the centre of the mall, where all the terrorists were. A first hand encounter with the supernatural, his fear was at an all time high and his masked face spiralled into anguish. He fired over and over seeing as she was receiving not a single bit of damage.
"{Feed}." (Lastia)
It's unfortunate, but there was no way Lastia could preserve the secrecy of the existence of magical girls. She wouldn't let these individuals die, it's what Lastia would have wanted. So this was merely part of her effort in simulating her master. She didn't understand why Arin had placed the memory wiping curse... But part of her believes in Arin. She's likely working on a large scale magic ritual that would utilise Yggdrasil as material to revive Lastia. That's why she wants Yggdrasil to closely emulate Lastia as much as possible, to synchronise with the memories and perhaps bind them to this world.
Even {Barter} couldn't bring back the dead. The basis of Arin's skill was to trade something she found precious for something she found less valuable. Lastia was the most valuable person in her life...
After the first 2 failed attempts, the rest of the terrorist began to shoot as much as they can. Every single bullet was absorbed, even the stray ones. It was something akin to a high velocity aerosol that detects and eradicated biological matter, the accelerate force was immediately absorbed. It was nothing compared to the transdimensional entity controlling the super satellite calamity. As soon as the trigger was pulled and the bullet left the barrel, they stopped dead still and dropped onto the feet of the terrorist, assaulting their feet and pants with a deathly frigid sensation.
"Shit! What the hell is she!?" (Leader?)
An oppressive silence swallows the venue, she steps closer, striking fear with every stride. The clicking of her heels bounce off the marble floors with clarity, a dark red light surges out of her pores, invisible at release but visible upon convergence. They shape into a great sword taller than her body, and heavier looking than any shelf in this mall. She wield it with one hand, balancing it's weight horizontally with her wrist. An impossibly surreal sight, unlike the weapons this was something paranormal and inexplicable.
At the very least, the mall goers had less fear as the magical girl contained every contact and prevented their deaths. Any stray shot would have homed into a heat signature or anything that breathed and erased them without a single trace.
Seeing as they held their tongues, Yggdrasil spoke up first.
"I permit you to speak. Who are you? Why are you here? Where did you get these weapons?" (Lastia)
"..." (Leader?)
He kept his mouth and eyes shut out of complete fear, his torso and limbs convulsed and sweat drenched his all black suit wet with dangerous carbon life form erasing aerosol. With a single swing, the figure in front of her lacked a head. No one could see how fast her wrist moved. At a minimum, her fingers gripped the handle and sliced through the air at the speed of sound. Her attack clearly and easily far surpassed that.
You would need a weaponised mobile platform if you wanted to deal with her as a normal human being. Even then only a handful of these weapons are still around in the world, Eterna pushed to have these g*ndam lookalikes dismantled for the sake of peace, similar to the nuclear dearmament pacts of the past. The only difference was that anti air defence has developed enough to isolate and annihilate nuclear armaments almost upon being launched.
This was an era of great peace for the past 11000 years. The first 500 years were a little rocky, but there was nothing as detrimental or inhumane as war. Only small scale conflicts whereby the world government's enemies were annihilated after a couple decades. There were numerous groups to contend with and more importantly, root out of hiding back then. These were all common history knowledge, humans have never known peace for all eternity, it is with wide proclamation that peace is built upon a mountain of corpses.
Lastia turned to the next person, her blade pointed at his throat. Looking at their builds, even if concealed under a few layers of armour and gadgets, she could still guess that they were somewhat older. Around middle age to somewhere younger, anyone who could move, really.
"W-we... We... We..." (Terrorist?)
She slammed the flat of her blade into the marble floor, smashing chunks of it into the air.
"Hyeeek!!??!" (Terrorist?)
Startled by the loud sound, he hopped for a moment before feeling something warm in his pants. One of his legs collapsed and he squatted down with his body shaking.
"We are...! We are the eclipse followers...! That day... That day the great one blocked the sky, signalling the time to rise up!
We were... We were meant to topple, the-the world government and reinstate... Our god..." (Terrorist?)
With great vigour, he finally finished his explanation. It felt a little more lengthy than needed due to all the stammering, but it was sufficient. Another terrorist crept away from the centre of the mall and pointed his gun at her. He died before he noticed that Lastia swung. It was at a slightly difficult angle, so the great blade in her hand blew away the top half of his head. His skull offered no resistance as his brain matter slid into the ground with the remnants of his head. With a soft splat from a not so high altitude, the liquid smoothly diffused over the ground.
"Come on, you should understand. The world government doesn't just have military forces, they have everything. " (Lastia)
Control over the supernatural, incomprehensible forces. Culture, religion, movements. Of course it had abstained from using any of its power, it was all a supported deduction from Yggdrasil. The only concrete evidence she had was the sentinels and their protection. They were the real protective forces eliminating the Traces, compared to them the local magical girls were practically playing pretend. Of course these was in perspective of extreme dangers like the calamities and Heavenly kings.
Heavenly kings weren't the only large scale threat, just as the ordinary magical girls weren't useless. If pushed to describe, Yggdrasil would confidently assert that they protect the daily lives and the ordinary happiness of people.
