Chapter 76 - Season Premier

Innocence & Ignorance

Red...

Again the symbols fell past his eyes, though the pain and pleasure had all but disappeared. He had no idea whether or not he was even corporeal at this point... Everything he had gathered, every ounce of sensation that he had ~ Washed away like nothing had ever happened. He tried to breathe, but there was no air. He tried to speak, but no words were formed.

He was weightless, like floating down a warm river as he watched the symbols flow by like they were fixed to the rooftop of a tunnel. Then, they gently vanished into nothing once more.

Darkness surrounded him...

The sound of wind blowing by filled his ears, rustling trees and whizzing past his little ears. Slowly he could feel again, his back flat against what seemed like a lifted layer of sticks or bamboo curved upward. It wasn't long before he had his sense of smell back... He took a long, deep breath of what he assumed to be clean air only to get the familiar smell of sweat filling his lungs.

"Mghn..." Mat moaned, the smell triggering his body to return to it's pleasured state.

His eyes slowly opened as he felt his [REDACTED], his heels digging into what he had assumed was a straw floor of some sort. He wasn't exactly wrong... The sandal's sole was made of Tatami. Light flooded his little eyes as he looked up to the enormous white sole hovering over him. He could see sweat and grime deep in the fabric of the owner's sock... The breeze had lightened the scent though, it was a welcome change from his torture chamber.

"Ugh..." Mat moaned, his little eyes open wide as his jaw dropped at the enormous sole before him. It seemed like no matter the horrible tortures he had endured, he still was a slave to his mental programming... He couldn't move, he didn't want to move...

Natsuko smiled a contented smile as she looked up to the trees high above, her hands in front of her waist as she stood still. Her left foot's heel was raised, giving Mathew a perfect place to exist for the time being as she simply enjoyed her life at the shrine. She had finished all of her tasks for the day, as well as a few magical rituals that were preformed at the shrine. The Chipmunk girl only studied positive Majick, not dabbling in anything forbidden or unknown since she first started over a year prior.

No. Now everything she did was focused on healing. She was no longer a novice practitioner, and she had not returned to the temple she found buried in Mt. Ōasa.

~Nothing happened that she could tell, but she didn't want to test her luck.~

"Beautiful..." She said to herself under her breath, watching a bird flying off in the distance. Mat heard her speak, but much like the Blood Elves in Azeroth, he couldn't understand her. It was definitely Japanese though, a language he had always wanted to learn but never had the time to... It would have come in handy now.

He couldn't speak. No matter how many times he had seen the bottom of a foot, the sight was still breathtaking. He couldn't move either, paralyzed in awe this time and not an actual lack of energy.

She stepped forward, feeling a small pebble under the ball of her foot as her left foot met with the ground. The sensation was normal, it didn't bother her in the least as she continued down the path. The little one beneath her foot was having a much more difficult time with it though. She stepped forward and the pressure forced all of the air from his lungs. The motion had slid him further up her sandal beneath her great toe, a very unsafe place to be for a little one trying to survive.

His ribs all collapsed at once. Her foot lifted taking his little body along for the ride as the Shrine Maiden filled the air with a gentle tune. She was having a wonderful day wandering near her shrine, humming a small tune under her breath as she casually strolled toward he bridge she enjoyed so much.

"Aghn..." Mat gasped as her foot lifted again, blood spewing from his little mouth. He was stuck to the fabric of her sock, his skin pressed deep into the material. His vision began to fade to red as he watched the woods swing by, before the space between her foot and the Zori Sandal disappeared once more.

~Squelch~

His body collapsed in a small burst. Natsuko felt the pebble under the ball of her foot flatten out as she approached the bridge. Her lovely smile didn't fade though, she simply assumed it was a small berry all along and the rough bump was just a seed within. She sat down casually, slipping her sandals off of her feet and setting them aside casually as she crossed her legs. She examined the sandal curiously, smirking a bit as she saw the red splatter of blood there.

A little red berry. Oh well, it might stain her Tabi if she didn't wash it off soon but a little red smudge under her foot didn't bother her anyway. She leaned back, flexing her toes as she looked up onto the forest with a cute and innocent smile, completely unaware of the life she just sent back into the darkness
