It was actually Goku's proactive request that gave him the perfect excuse to heal Vegeta.
The Vegeta before his eyes already had one foot in the halls of death. Using a Senzu Bean to treat him would have been somewhat wasteful; with his own healing ability, he could pull him back from the brink of death.
Raditz and Salari, seeing that Talot intended to save Vegeta, once again showed peculiar expressions.
But neither of them stopped him.
After all, whatever Talot did was always right.
Talot slowly walked to Vegeta's side, raised his right arm toward him, spread his five fingers, and activated his healing power.
"Bzzz~~!!" Emerald-green life energy flickered in Talot's palm, then droplets of green energy particles surged into Vegeta's body.
His injuries healed at a speed visible to the naked eye, and his life aura rose rapidly. In just a short while, he had fully recovered to his peak condition.
Vegeta, who had already stepped through the gates of hell, suddenly had his pupils contract and his eyes rapidly focused.
He had actually come back to life!
Upon awakening, Vegeta instantly exerted force, quickly pulling distance between himself and Talot's group.
"Looks like you've recovered well, and even stronger than before," Talot withdrew his healing power, crossed his arms, and teased Vegeta with a smile.
"My body… and my strength has increased so much… what's going on? You… you saved me?!" Vegeta, now fully recovered, felt the unprecedented changes within himself, and was in disbelief.
The surging power in his body was even greater than during his earlier potential eruption. In terms of power level, he estimated he now had at least close to 500,000!
He knew this was the Saiyan trait of tremendous power growth after surviving near-death. Back in the Frieza Force, he had relied on this again and again to push past his limits and grow stronger.
But compared to those past recoveries, the increase this time was on an entirely different level.
What Vegeta didn't know was that if this trait was deliberately exploited, its effects became very weak.
The reason his power had risen so drastically now was because both his body and his very soul had truly believed he was going to die. It was only by brushing against death itself that his survival had brought such an immense surge in strength.
Now, if he were to face Goku in his Super Saiyan form again, he might not have a guaranteed victory, but he would at least have the power to fight on equal ground.
Not far away, Nappa, seeing that Vegeta had recovered, came over as well.
Calming down, Vegeta cast a complex gaze across Talot and his group.
The two sides once again stood face-to-face, and the atmosphere grew unbearably heavy, even suffocating.
For Krillin, Yamcha, Tien Shinhan, and Chiaotzu, they didn't dare make even the faintest sound.
No one spoke; silence was maintained on both sides.
After his strength increased, Vegeta's senses had grown keener, and at the same time, his shock at Talot's group's strength deepened.
Whether it was Talot, Raditz, or Salari, their strength was far beyond what he could imagine.
The unfathomable energy within their bodies was like an abyss without end, immeasurable, and as vast and boundless as the universe itself.
In their presence, he felt like nothing more than a tiny boat adrift on the ocean—small, helpless.
"Why… why did you save me?!" After a moment of silence, Vegeta took a deep breath, struggling to control his emotions as he asked.
"For that, you should thank my brother Kakarot. If not for his pleading on your behalf, you'd probably already be dead," Raditz answered first, his tone mocking.
Vegeta gritted his teeth, ignoring Raditz's words, and locked his eyes firmly on Talot, waiting for his answer.
"If you really want a reason… it's because our Saiyan race has too few people left, and besides, we share a common enemy," Talot replied casually.
Obtaining Talot's response, Vegeta finally let the matter drop.
"Hmph~! Don't think that just because you saved me, I'll be grateful to you. I lost this time, but next time, I'll definitely win!!" Vegeta's eyes burned with an unyielding will.
Years of bearing patiently had forged Vegeta's heart into one of extreme resilience. No matter how many times he failed, he would always get back up and grow stronger at an astonishing speed.
Although this trip to Earth had dealt him a heavy blow, it had also brought him considerable gains.
"Looks like all those years of bearing patiently in the Frieza Force have changed our Prince Vegeta quite a bit. At the very least, he's not as arrogant and self-centered as before," Talot said with a faint smile, teasing him.
"Really? I don't see much difference from before. If anything, Nappa's the one who's changed the most. I still remember how he used to fly into rage so easily, acting ruthlessly all the time. He even harassed Salari once, and ruthlessly got beaten up by her… Now that he's stronger, he's actually become timid!!" Raditz had barely finished speaking when he realized something was very wrong, a chill running down his spine.
A wave of icy dread swept through him as he stiffly turned his head, only to see Salari's eyes, cold and gleaming with murderous intent, locked straight onto him.
"Uh, um, huh! What a beautiful day it is today. Did I… did I just say something? Hahaha!" Realizing he'd said the wrong thing, Raditz hurriedly changed the subject.
Little did he know that his awkward behavior left everyone around completely stunned.
"Hmph~~!!" Salari snorted coldly, turning away without another word.
Beside him, Nappa was already sweating buckets. He scratched his bald head nervously, pretending to be clueless, his heart in utter panic, terrified that Salari would hold a grudge and finish him off on the spot.
Vegeta quickly ignored the matter, realizing that lingering on Earth would only bring trouble. Turning away coldly, he said to Nappa: "We're leaving, Nappa. There's no need to stay on Earth any longer."
Vegeta's words shocked everyone present.
"Oh? Didn't you come to Earth for the Super Saiyan transformation? Why are you in such a hurry to leave? Or is it that you've given up?" Talot asked with interest.
"My goal has already been achieved. After fighting that brat, I've already seen Super Saiyan, and I've experienced its power. So even without the method you offered, I can achieve it on my own! The next time we meet, things won't be like this again." Vegeta's reply was completely beyond everyone's expectations.
Even Talot hadn't expected Vegeta to gain direct insight into the power of Super Saiyan through his battle with Goku.
As the Saiyan prince, his talent was indeed monstrous and extraordinary.
Vegeta had found his own path. Talot couldn't help but marvel—truly worthy of being the original work's second lead.
Prince Vegeta really lived up to his name.
...
While Vegeta was ready to leave, Nappa hesitated.
Vegeta may have found a transform, but he hadn't.
Nappa also wanted to become a Super Saiyan, otherwise, why would he have been so desperate to meet Talot and the others in the first place?
If he just left Earth like this, how could he ever transform?
Following Vegeta, he would only end up as an underling again.
He wanted to be like Raditz.
Nappa's helpless gaze shifted back and forth between Vegeta and Talot's group, his heart sinking into bitter despair. No matter which side, he couldn't resist either one…
