"Thank you, Grand Elder."
Even as reclusive as the young Piccolo was, he was somewhat moved by the Grand Elder's effort.
Of course, the most crucial thing was the sense of closeness Grand Elder gave him, which unconsciously filled his heart with respect.
The Grand Elder rubbed Piccolo's little head again, then looked toward Talot.
"Piccolo will stay on Planet Namek from now on. You can rest easy, I'll raise him well." The Grand Elder seemed able to see through people's hearts.
Talot nodded slightly; whatever the Grand Elder had in mind, Piccolo's situation was settled, at least.
"Entrusting Piccolo to you puts me at ease, naturally. But enough about him, your current condition is far from optimistic," Talot cut straight to the point and said.
At the side, Ragar and Nail both wore solemn expressions.
As the Grand Elder's children, they naturally could sense it.
Only the young Piccolo was still unaware, simply watching in silence.
"Everyone has their own fate. My time left is short; it's actually wonderful to shine a little in my final days and light the way for future generations." Grand Elder's state of mind was something Talot could not compare with.
Talot nodded, as if acknowledging the Grand Elder, then took out two Tree of Might's fruits from his personal storage space.
Since obtaining these back then, there were only three left now.
Talot had kept them unused as a contingency. Suddenly thinking of the Grand Elder, he decided to give them to him.
It was both to thank him for past help and to let him live a bit longer.
Seeing the Tree of Might's fruit, the Grand Elder was utterly shocked.
Although he was not a god, his realm was extremely high, and he could sense the incomparably dense life aura contained within the fruit.
He wanted to refuse, but Talot pressed it into his hands.
Finally, under the gazes of the others, the Grand Elder ate the Tree of Might's fruit. With the help of powerful vitality, he not only became much younger, his condition also returned to what it had been decades ago.
Even though decades aren't much to a Namekian, it's still decades.
…
Before long.
Outside the great round house.
The Grand Elder walked outside under his own power and breathed in the fresh air.
For him, this had already become an extravagant hope. He hadn't expected that he would have a day when he could step out with his own strength again.
He was grateful to Talot, but at this moment, further words of thanks were unnecessary and would only seem forced.
Because of the Grand Elder's recovery, Ragar and Nail were overjoyed, their faces full of happiness.
Grand Elder was the root of all Namekians. Now that death has been delayed and a bit of youth restored, Talot has once again become a great benefactor of their race.
As for Ragar and Nail's gratitude, Talot gestured that they needn't make much of it; it was merely a small favor, that's all.
If not for his limited ability, he really would have liked to help the Grand Elder become a few hundred years younger.
"Speaking of which, Planet Namek has really changed a lot over these years. The last time I came, this land was extremely barren, with hardly any flora or fauna to be seen." Changing the subject, Talot spoke.
Everyone had gone through quite a lot over these years.
Time really can change everything.
"Yeah, and it's thanks to you. Without your help, and without you bringing so many plants and crops back then, Namek wouldn't have been able to recover this quickly." Ragar stood beside Talot, gazing out over the land with him.
It was a harmonious scene. Thinking back to their first meeting, so much time had already passed.
"This may sound abrupt and presumptuous, but could I ask you to have another fight with me, Talot?" Ragar suddenly issued a challenge.
At those words, Talot was slightly surprised.
He hadn't expected Ragar to take the initiative to challenge him.
Without much hesitation, the corners of Talot's mouth lifted, and he showed an anticipatory smile: "All right, but that's not like you, Ragar. You used to do whatever you wanted. Afraid I won't accept?"
This teasing made Ragar blush. Just as he was about to retort, Nail stepped forward.
"Brother Ragar, let me go first. I've always, always wanted to spar with Brother Talot." Nail's sincere words made Talot glance at him with great appreciation.
Although Nail right now didn't look as mature as in the original work, he was already a young man, and his strength was greater.
He wanted to fight. Talot wouldn't refuse to spar with him.
It would serve perfectly as instructing a junior.
Proud of Nail's courage, Ragar looked at Talot and said, "Nail may still be young, but his strength is far greater than ours back then."
He said this for fear that Talot would not accept.
"Then let's do it. Just right, I'll see how your strength has grown over these years. It's been a long time since I was this excited," Talot said with a smile.
Having reached a consensus, the three exchanged smiles.
The Grand Elder and the young Piccolo, not far away, took in this scene.
Grand Elder smiled with relief, while the young Piccolo strove to remain calm. He still had much he did not understand.
"There's a good show to watch next. As a warrior-type Namekian, you have a long road ahead," Grand Elder said to the young Piccolo at his side.
Upon hearing this, young Piccolo silently nodded.
