Chapter 39 - Don't you dare

Jade's POV

I stared at the girl in complete shock, my hand still pressed against my stinging cheek. 

The cafeteria had gone deathly silent, every eye was fixed on the unfolding drama. 

As I looked closely, I recognized the girl as Allison. She was one of the most popular and influential girls on campus. 

I could see she was glaring at me with a mixture of fury and hurt, her chest heaving with uncontained emotion.

"Allison, what the heck was that f-" I started, but she cut me off with a venomous hiss. The last time I checked, Allison and I weren't close, so we barely talked, not to think of doing anything to offend me. 

"I didn't do anything wro--" I was trying to talk again but she cut me off, immediately. 

"Don't play dumb, Jade! I saw you getting out of Andrew's car this morning. Everyone knows he doesn't give rides to anyone but his little clique of friends. Why would you of all people, be seen in his car? " She spat, her eyes narrowing at me, angrily.
