Chapter 17 - The Star Race Arrives [II]

Seth was sitting on his bed, his face devoid of expression. It's not that he was hurting or anything. Nope, he was slightly confused. For some reason, the moment he went into the bathroom and began bathing, he felt a strange desire to drink water and bury himself in the ground.

Now, Seth may seem like he was exaggerating, but it was literally what he was feeling, and that made him feel strange. "I'm becoming more like a plant every day." He muttered.

Thally, hearing that he didn't mind him, was just happily eating bugs and not giving a care to the world, but she did advise him. "Eat lots of meat and drink lots of water."

Heh, as if that was easy, unlike her, Seth was human...well, semi-human at this point, he is almost a full plant. "Ah, whatever, I'm going out, I wonder what Haiki and the rest are doing. Maybe Ufriel is shouting about wanting to become the greatest forger in the universe again.."

After going out of the room, he went to greet his parents, who were doing some research. His mother was checking on the anatomy of the beasts in this world while his dad was simply reading a book.

Hellen turned to look at the door and waved her scalpel at Seth. "Hey, little bean, you seem brighter today. Did you get a girlfriend?"

Seth's lips twitched. "Good morning, Mom and Dad, and no, I have not gotten a girlfriend."

Hellen pouted and turned back to her work. "Well, that's a shame, I thought bringing you here could at least make you interested in some girls."

William tilted his book downward and looked at Hellen, befuddled. Wasn't he the one who brought Seth here, and she wanted to come along?. "Don't mind your mom."

Before Hellen could refute, the ship began shaking violently, Seth slipped and almost fell onto the floor but he luckily grabbed the edges of the door, William fell to the ground from the bed and Hellen was not even moved, Seth looked down at her legs and saw her ability literally tying her to the ground, there were tiny green glowing strings just embedded to the metal floor while Hellen stood.

The shaking persisted for quite a long time, but thankfully it stopped.

Seth steadied himself and took a deep breath, his fingers gripping the doorframe tightly. The vibrations had left his ears ringing, and for a moment, it felt like the entire ship was groaning in protest against some unseen force.

"...What was that?" he muttered under his breath.

William didn't answer but looked up at the ceiling, his eyes glowing faintly. "Our friends have arrived, it seems, and they arrived extravagantly, well, I guess it's work time."

William stood up and straightened himself, he walked out of the door while patting Seth's head. "Okay, Seth, stay on the ship, or you can go meet your friends and go somewhere else."

The members of the star race arrived, which is what he got from his father's words, and he doesn't want them to be there if something unexpected happens.

Seth, of course, wanted to see what the members of the star race looked like, so he just followed his father out of the ship.

When he went out, Seth's mouth went agape.

The Sky was bloated by a large ship, which resembled a large, triangular, and square-shaped ship with countless doors and paths.

To say the least, it looked to be the size of a small town at least.

William merely whistled. "That's a gorgeous-looking ship if I do so say myself, but I think our guests are doing a little bit too much by arriving in such a large vessel, they really are trying to show up."

Seth turned to William who was acting as if a large ship was nothing. He glanced at Seth and sighed. "I told you to stay on the ship, but seeing as how everyone can see that, it really doesn't matter anymore."

Williams' purple eyes glowed faintly as he stared at the ship. He flicked his right hand over and from the back of his arm, and purple feathers began to sprout, glowing lightly and moving with an unseen wind and gravity.

Williams' irises turned into pinpricks for a moment, as if looking at something distinct and intricate, getting waved his arms at the ship and the feathers launched off from his arm and all followed a guided path towards the ship.

The feathers accelerated towards the ship with a speed comparable to that of sound and finally stopped after reaching the planet's atmosphere where a bit of the ship could be seen. The feathers floated there for a few seconds before they all diverted towards a single point and began to form into a silhouette of a strange beast.

Its body shape resembled that of an owl with a wingspan of a vulture and the beak of a pelican, its eyes formed a singular one, and faint lines began to come from its body until they all formed into miniature eyes floating around and looking at the large beast.

Williams' status as a Monarch was not to be underestimated and was known throughout all human territories as the Flawed Eye, he had consumed the beast cores of beasts who are good at observation and information gathering to support his ability and become a Sovereign, and currently through his eyes he could see lot of flaws on this rather 'impressive' ship in which he could exploit and make it collapse entirely within a span of minutes.

But since they were all trying to create a diplomatic relationship, he might as well not do that.

The creature dispersed and the feathers returned to Williams body. Seth was bot really surprised about his father's strange actions, he was an unusual man who likes assessing things and planning contingency's before he actually goes about making a decision about it.

The other familys and clans all went out of their ships or individual camps and stared at the massive vessel that remains floating in the atmosphere.

Seth stood beside his father, feeling the subtle shift in the air. While the massive triangular vessel of the Star Race exerted a physical pressure on the planet's surface, William's casual display of "The Flawed Eye" reminded Seth that humanity's leaders weren't exactly helpless.

"They're coming down," William said, his voice dropping the playful tone he used with Hellen.

From the belly of the gargantuan Star Race ship, several smaller, sleek craft detached. They didn't use thrusters; instead, they seemed to slide down invisible rails of light, landing with pinpoint precision in the designated "neutral zone" between the various human camps.

The Gathering of the Heirs

As the envoys descended, Seth felt a tug on his sleeve. He turned to see Haiki Hikari and Rorel Umbra approaching. Haiki looked uncharacteristically tense, her yellow eyes darting toward the alien ships.

"Seth! You felt that shaking, right?" Haiki whispered, leaning in. "Ufriel almost took a header into his own forge. He's over there now, trying to pretend his sword didn't vibrate out of his hand."

Rorel nodded toward the landing zone. "Look at the energy readings coming off those smaller ships. It's not just Axis Energy. It feels... dense."

"They are called the Star race so they must use something like Star energy." Seth Proposed.

"Star Energy, huh? Or maybe they just condense Axis Energy until it reaches a critical mass," Rorel mused, his shadow flickering restlessly at his feet. "Either way, it's heavy. My shadows are practically screaming to stay hidden."

As the three of them watched, the hatches of the leading Star Race craft hissed open. A ramp of solid light extended, and the first of the envoys stepped onto the soil of Sector 35.

Leading the group was a tall, regal figure with deep indigo skin and four majestic horns that curved like a crown, each tip flickering with a steady, white-hot flame. Behind him walked the two youths, a three-horned male with the book of fire and a pink-haired girl with X-shaped irises, she had horns that extended from the back of her head to her forehead like a well made band, above her hair was a floating pink flame.

The moment the Star Race leader's foot touched the ground, a wave of heat washed over everyone there, the Monarchs were affected and the others with fire abilities more so but the sudden wave of heat made some of the faction or family members body become weak.

William was shielding Seth, Hakari and Rorel so they could not feel it...but as they were beings who absorb the energy of beasts they could feel a sense of superiority from the man.

The man scanned the crowd, taking note of the nineteen powerful beings on this planet alone, suppressing their very nature so they wouldn't affect the weaker ones.

Out of respect, the man retracted his own aura. "Akriel, these new potential alliance partners...they are interesting."

Akriel stepped out and walked beside the man. "Third major commander, can you please keep your thoughts to yourself, you're sounding arrogant."

The White haired, white skinned star race sighed, she had a long tail and two horns on her head with a floating blue flame on it, her spiral irises were still the same as the day she met Yalen.
