Chapter 303 - Chapter 303 It has begun

Arthur opened a discreet, shimmering Warp Gate, and he and Ultear Milkovich stepped through.

They found themselves in a hidden location Arthur had previously stabilized: the ruins of the Celestial Temple of Rhea, a sacred structure built centuries ago by ancient astronomers in a secluded valley far from Magnolia.

The temple wasn't conceptually pure like the Floating Gardens, but it was imbued with deep, ancient Time Magic and vast Celestial Energy, making it the perfect setting for Ultear. Above them, the night sky was impossibly clear, filled with millions of visible stars, untouched by the pollution or magic residue of the major cities.

"The stars here..."

Ultear murmured, gazing up in awe.

"They feel closer. The pulse of time is so steady and strong in this place."

"It is, and that is why I brought you here,"

Arthur replied, leading her to a weathered marble altar.

"This temple was dedicated to the unwavering flow of the cosmos. Since your magic, Arc of Time, is tied to the movement of all things, I thought you would find peace here."

They shared a meal laid out on the altar—simple, perfect food Arthur had conjured. The conversation was intimate, focusing on Ultear's immense knowledge and her feelings of guilt over her past manipulations.

Arthur met her intense gaze with the sincerity of his Super Focus.

"Ultear, I do not judge your past. I value your present,"

Arthur affirmed.

"Your understanding of time and your loyalty make you indispensable to the Celestial Forge's future. You are cherished and not an asset."

Her usual severe expression softened. She had spent her life feeling like a tool. To be acknowledged as cherished was a powerful, disarming validation.

"I felt fear when you returned with Erza, Arthur-sama,"

She confessed softly.

"Fear that my usefulness was my only value."

Arthur gently took her hand, his touch firm and reassuring.

"You don't have to be afraid because I won't let you go even if you wanted to…"

He sealed the moment with a kiss to her forehead—a gesture of profound respect and commitment.

Ultear leaned into the touch, feeling the stability of the Dragon God overwrite the turbulence of her inner self.

They stood holding hands, enjoying the silent, ancient peace of the Temple. The distant stars seemed to burn brighter than ever.

Then, the tranquility was violently shattered.

Arthur's senses and, more significantly, the Celestial Temple itself, reacted with terror.

The very air around them didn't just warp; it stretched. The stars above, instead of maintaining their steady flow, began to smear across the night sky. The Temple's ingrained Time Magic recoiled, registering a massive, multi-dimensional violation.

"It has begun,"

Arthur stated, his voice instantly cold and commanding.

Ultear, with her sensitive Arc of Time magic, felt the shift physically. It was like her internal clock was being yanked backward and outward simultaneously.

"The Anima!"

Ultear gasped, recognizing the signature of the destructive magic she knew from her Council days.

"It's a dimensional suction! It's starting to pull the magic from Earthland!"

"The world is being pulled into another dimension, Ultear,"

Arthur confirmed, pulling her tightly against him.

He opened the Warp Gate back to the Celestial Forge, the silver light now flickering with the disruptive energy of the dimensional breach.
