[Third Person's PoV]
A Bit Earlier…
At the very start of the exam, Momo Yaoyorozu and Shoto Todoroki huddled together, discussing their strategy before the announcement signaled the beginning of their battle against their pro hero teacher—Shota Aizawa, also known as Eraserhead.
"Can you fight from a distance?" Momo asked calmly, her voice steady and composed as a massive sniper rifle materialized in her arms almost instantly.
Todoroki blinked, mildly surprised at how quickly she had summoned the weapon. "Huh? Oh… Kind of," he replied. "But I'm definitely more effective at close to medium range. Long-distance isn't exactly my strength."
Without replying, Momo activated her wristwatch, causing a transparent blue holographic interface to project in front of her. She swiftly began scrolling through detailed schematics, blueprints, and molecular diagrams—most of which she had developed alongside Tony and Melissa. Her fingers danced across the projection, scanning through a collection of gadgets, weapons, and support items they had helped her design.
"Our best bet is to disorient Sensei and keep him on the move," she said confidently. "He may be a master in hand-to-hand combat, but even he has limits. If we can exhaust him while keeping our distance, we'll have a better shot at winning."
As she spoke, she began creating a few devices on the spot—gadgets specifically designed to aid Todoroki in close quarters, all forged with pinpoint precision from the materials within her body.
"I can act as bait," Todoroki offered, stretching his limbs and cracking his knuckles. "If you've already got a game plan, I can draw his attention and give you the opening you need."
Before Momo could answer, the loud announcement signaling the beginning of the test echoed through the various testing sites.
Without hesitation, Momo stepped onto a sleek, silver hoverboard she'd just created, which lifted her gracefully into the air. She soared toward a nearby rooftop to gain a tactical vantage point. Meanwhile, Todoroki launched forward, sliding effortlessly along the ice he generated beneath his feet. His speed increased rapidly, momentum building as he cut through the test zone with remarkable control.
High above, perched on the top of a tall light post, Aizawa sat crouched like a predator stalking its prey. His sharp eyes observed Todoroki's advance with suspicion. Despite not seeing Momo anywhere, the veteran hero instantly narrowed his gaze.
"It's a trap," he muttered to himself, already anticipating their coordinated strategy.
Even though he knew it was coming, Aizawa wasn't the type to let his opponents execute their plan without a fight. His eyes flared red as he activated his Quirk, nullifying Todoroki's abilities. In an instant, Todoroki lost control of his ice and was forced to halt, his boots scraping across the pavement as he transitioned into a sprint.
Aizawa shot his scarf toward a telephone pole and swung downward with surgical precision, using the momentum to deliver a flying kick aimed directly at Todoroki. But the student was prepared—he ducked, rolled, and twisted mid-movement to face his teacher, sliding to a halt before lunging forward with his fist.
The two clashed in a blur of motion. Todoroki threw a series of powerful punches, but Aizawa expertly blocked or redirected each one. Finally, the teacher caught Todoroki's wrist and twisted it, halting his momentum.
However, Todoroki had one last trick—he opened his gloved hand to reveal a circular device embedded in his palm. Before Aizawa could react, a sudden burst of blinding light erupted from it.
But Aizawa, quick as ever, had already anticipated the trick. He twisted Todoroki's wrist just in time, redirecting the flash toward his student's face.
"Agh!" Todoroki cried, staggering back as the intense light blinded him instead.
Suddenly, a red flare sliced through the air from above. A powerful concussive blast flashed towards Aizawa, however he was always constantly vigilant anticipating the sneak attack from Momo. The blast slammed into the ground near Aizawa, who leaned back and dodged, shattering the asphalt and launching debris in all directions. The veteran hero narrowed his eyes—Momo had finally made her move.
Without wasting a second, he launched Todoroki away with a well-placed kick, using the boy's body like a springboard to catapult himself into a series of flips. Behind him, a storm of red energy blasts pursued him relentlessly, tearing through the environment like a barrage of missiles.
He twisted through the air, using his scarf to latch onto a nearby rooftop. With a sharp tug, he vaulted himself up just in time to evade the onslaught. As he landed on the roof, he finally saw her.
Momo hovered above, circling him like a hawk. The heavy sniper rested in her hands, firing shot after shot as she moved in calculated arcs. She was graceful, her hoverboard gliding effortlessly as her sharp eyes tracked him through a visor connected to her drones.
Those same drones now encircled Aizawa, each one firing focused bursts of concussive energy, locking him in from every angle. He flipped and spun through the chaos, agile and focused. Grabbing one of the drones with his scarf, he spun it around to use it as a makeshift shield, letting it absorb several incoming blasts before shattering.
Then, seizing another drone, he swung it toward Momo in an attempt to knock her out of the air. She barely dodged, leaning her body sideways as the drone sailed past.
Just as the two of them braced for the next exchange, the ground rumbled beneath them. A powerful tremor shook the battlefield, catching everyone off guard. All eyes turned toward the horizon for a split second—wondering what caused the earthquake—before they refocused and reengaged, the fight escalating once more.
His eyes, however, remained locked on Todoroki, carefully observing his condition as the boy began to recover from the blinding flash earlier. Without hesitation, Aizawa leapt off the rooftop, cloak billowing behind him as he descended toward the recovering student.
From above, Momo pursued him in a downward arc, her hoverboard humming beneath her. "This is actually pretty fun," she muttered under her breath with a smirk, already lining up her next shot.
But Aizawa moved quickly. With precise agility, he propelled himself toward Todoroki and seized him in a swift motion, positioning him directly between himself and Momo's line of fire. The move caused Momo to hesitate, her finger twitching on the trigger but holding still.
"Whoa, Aizawa-sensei! Using your own student as a human shield? That's a new low," Momo teased from above, trying to hide her concern behind a joking tone.
Aizawa scoffed in return. "Treat me like a villain during this exam. Real villains won't hesitate to exploit the innocent to achieve their goals. You should be prepared for that."
PANK!
Before he could say more, a sudden concussive force smashed against the side of Aizawa's head. The blow destroyed his goggles in an instant, sending fragments scattering to the ground. One of Momo's cloaked drones had silently positioned itself behind him, decloaked mid-flight, and released a blinding flare that momentarily rendered Aizawa completely blind.
The instant Aizawa's Erasure Quirk dropped, Todoroki felt his power return. A soft crackle of frost sparked at his fingertips before, with a forceful breath, he summoned a massive surge of ice. A towering pillar erupted around him, completely encasing Aizawa in a frozen prison of jagged crystal.
Hovering closer, Momo descended beside Todoroki. Her hoverboard dissolved back into her body in a shimmer of energy. Without a word, she approached the frozen form of their teacher and snapped a pair of reinforced handcuffs onto his exposed wrists—visible through a crack in the ice.
"Nice job," Momo said with a proud grin, turning to Todoroki and extending her fist toward him.
Todoroki looked at her for a quiet moment, his expression unreadable, then smiled softly and bumped her fist with his own. "Thanks. You too."
With the exam concluded, Todoroki began to carefully melt the ice around Aizawa, allowing their instructor to breathe more freely as Momo summoned her drones and gear back into her body, storing them away.
Aizawa, still squinting from the pain and the lingering effects of the flash, gave a low chuckle. "Good teamwork, you two," he said, grimacing as he was gradually released. "You made me monologue on purpose, didn't you?"
"Yep," Momo replied with a satisfied smirk. "I know you too well. You can't help yourself—you always slip in a lesson when the moment presents itself. I just needed you talking long enough for my drone to sneak behind you and get the shot."
Aizawa gave a faint, approving nod, though his eyes remained closed. "Effective tactic," he admitted. "You both pass."
