"Well, these must be those codes," Fujino said, picking up a piece of paper and examining it. "Judging by its age, it's pretty old, at least forty years. And the writing looks like it's from a mimeograph—that kind of printing technology is ancient. It seems the person who invited us here was lying, and this so-called auction is probably fake too."
Haruka Mogi shook his head. "Looks like that guy just wants us to crack these codes."
Conan nodded in agreement, then looked down as if he'd found something else. "Huh? Didn't you notice? This piano seems wet! And look, there's that lady's Luminol reagent underneath it."
"So that means they must have been here too," Haruka Mogi suddenly realized, then shouted, "Moustache, quick, turn off the lights!"
"Oh!!" Kaito Kid feigned surprise, then quickly ran to turn off the lights.
Then, writing scrawled in blood appeared before everyone: [I, too, will surely be killed by Renya Karasuma, but before that, I have obtained the final trump card to solving the code...]
"The final trump card?!" The few of them looked slightly stunned.
Meanwhile, in the restroom nearby...
"Ms. Uchida?" Ran emerged from a restroom stall, looking curiously at Ikumi Uchida. She glanced around. "Where's Ms. Ishihara?"
"She should be in the hallway," Ikumi Uchida replied, standing at the sink, washing off some tranquilizer.
"The hallway?" Ran asked, puzzled. Fujino's plan didn't include this part...
As she stepped into the hallway, she suddenly saw the maid collapsed by the restroom door.
"Ms. Ishihara?! This..." Ran was shocked, calling out in surprise. Her script certainly didn't have this in it.
Just then, Ikumi Uchida suddenly appeared behind Ran, pulling out a handkerchief and pressing it over her face. In a moment, Ran passed out.
Ikumi Uchida used the handkerchief to knock Ran out, then dragged both of them into a restroom stall, faking their deaths by smothering. She put away the handkerchief, washed her hands, and exited the restroom, her arms crossed over the chest of her evening gown. She couldn't help but think to herself, "Heh heh... I never expected that guy to worry about the realism of these two girls' acting, and pull a double-cross like this."
"It really is you!" Ikumi Uchida turned to see Hakuba Saguru emerge from behind her, just as she expected. He held a handgun and began his deduction. "There was a bomb in the car, so the culprit wouldn't risk their life going there. That leaves only Ran, you, and one of either Fujino or Ishihara... Now it seems, you must be the culprit, aren't you?"
Ikumi Uchida subtly cast a sidelong glance, her tone somewhat alluring. "Oh, young detective, that thing you're holding is quite dangerous, you know. I have no idea what you're talking about."
"Stop playing innocent..." Hakuba narrowed his eyes. "That gun was under my pillow. Were you planning to frame me as the mastermind in the end?"
"What a coincidence..." Ikumi Uchida smiled, slowly turning around. The handgun hidden in her palm appeared, and she swiftly fired a shot at Hakuba's chest.
"Bang!"
With a gunshot, Hakuba fell to the ground.
"Heh heh heh, it seems our thoughts aligned. What a pity..." Ikumi Uchida chuckled, then turned and quickly fled towards the central clock tower.
Immediately, Fujino and the others rushed over from the other side. Fujino dashed forward, embracing the seemingly dead Hakuba, whose mouth was gushing blood. He looked distraught, tears even welling in his eyes. "Old Hakuba! Oh, Old Hakuba! Damn you! That woman!"
Kaito Kid, disguised as Kogoro Mouri, twitched his mouth as he observed Fujino's acting, looking as if he had lost a beloved family member. Was this guy's acting always this good? He stifled his thoughts and continued with the script. As if hearing something, he immediately rushed forward, "Who's on the stairs!"
"Don't pretend anymore." After Kogoro Mouri (Kaito Kid) left, Haruka Mogi, who had come along, suddenly pulled out a handgun from his pocket and aimed it at Fujino. "I assume this was all planned by you two from the start? Ever since I arrived here, I've felt something was off. You know Hakuba, and Kogoro Mouri has a good relationship with you... Now, only outsiders are being victimized. Clearly, you few are the culprits!"
He then looked at Hakuba, who lay motionless on the ground. "This kid, he must be the one you sent to kill that woman, Uchida. And Kogoro Mouri must have gone to chase Uchida, right?"
"Hmph, trying to turn the tables, are we?" Fujino narrowed his eyes, looking at Haruka Mogi. "You have a gun in your hand. If you ask me, you and Uchida are in cahoots, planning to pin all the blame on us."
"Still running your mouth even when death is near!" Haruka Mogi shook his head, his tone scornful. "Even if it's not what I think, you're definitely the killer, or someone looking for the so-called treasure and a way out of here. If you ask me, you're definitely Phantom Thief Kid in disguise!"
"Then come and try me!" Fujino suddenly burst into action, drawing a wooden sword from inside his suit jacket.
"Another one of these magic tricks!" Haruka Mogi clicked his tongue, firing several shots, all skillfully dodged by Fujino.
"What?!" As Mogi looked on in astonishment, Fujino seized the opportunity, wielding his wooden sword and striking forcefully at Mogi's head.
"Thud!"
With a dull thud, Haruka Mogi collapsed, unconscious. Fujino clutched his arm; it seemed some blood was seeping out.
"Bang!"
Just then, another gunshot echoed from upstairs.
"Those despicable fools..." Fujino stood up, picked up Haruka Mogi's gun, fired a shot at him, then grabbed his wooden sword and gave chase.
"Click!"
Ikumi Uchida raised her handgun, aiming it at Fujino, who had just entered. "It seems it's just the two of us left now."
"Yes, your accomplice is dead," Fujino said cautiously, gripping his wooden sword in one hand and the handgun in the other.
"It's no use saying anything now..." Ikumi Uchida's expression remained calm. "It seems only one of us can survive. I'm curious, what kind of treasure is it that would make us turn on each other like this?"
"Heh heh..." Fujino scoffed. "I was actually looking forward to cooperating with such a beautiful and wealthy woman like you. What a shame."
"Hmph..." Ikumi Uchida replied meaningfully, "A real shame, indeed."
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
Two gunshots rang out, and blood welled from both their bodies. They fell almost simultaneously; no one was left alive.
Meanwhile, in the secret room of the Twilight Mansion...
Miyoji Sengoku watched the scene of mutual slaughter on the monitor screen, looking utterly bewildered. Recovering, she took a deep breath and let out a cold, mocking laugh. "Even with these detectives, they still couldn't solve the riddle..."
To be honest, the detectives suddenly turning on each other was unexpected, but she wasn't entirely surprised. After all, the initial plan was for them to kill each other. She just hadn't anticipated that Sukezane Ogami's crude plan would actually succeed.
