Chapter 694 - Early Apprenticeship

Before Beerus could even react, Eriri suddenly flashed in front of him, raising her right hand as she pressed her thumb and middle finger together, aiming straight at his forehead.

With a sharp snap, Beerus was instantly sent flying backward by her flick. The immense force shattered his aura completely, and before his body even hit the ground, he had already fallen unconscious.

Watching nearby, Whis' expression changed instantly. He hurriedly appeared behind Beerus to catch him midair.

However, when he looked down at the limp, catlike God of Destruction in his arms, Whis couldn't help but show a look of astonishment.

"This... impossible. Lord Beerus was defeated with a single strike?"

While Whis himself was capable of doing that, he was an Angel—the most powerful race in the universe. Yet before him stood a beautiful girl who appeared to be nothing more than a human.

On the other side, Vegeta's eyes widened in disbelief. He had never imagined that the mighty Beerus would be knocked out by Eriri in just one move. That could only mean one thing—Eriri's true strength far exceeded anything he could comprehend.

Eriri, on the other hand, merely smiled faintly at Whis' astonishment.

"He's just a temperamental purple-skinned cat. Dealing with him isn't hard at all~"

"Oh my, how impressive," Whis chuckled softly, covering his mouth. "I suppose the powerful energy we sensed from Earth half an hour ago wasn't caused by him, then, but by someone else?"

Though Eriri's strength had far surpassed his expectations, Whis wasn't particularly alarmed. After all, Eriri hadn't killed Beerus—meaning she bore no real hostility toward them. He quickly scanned Beerus' condition; aside from being unconscious, his body was unscathed, and he would likely awaken soon.

Besides, Whis had never been fond of fighting. He preferred savoring fine cuisine from across the universe. And of course, he had absolute confidence in his own power—if things truly went wrong, he could handle it.

"You're talking about Cell, right? That guy's dead. Why, were you two looking for him?"

"Well, we originally thought he might be the Super Saiyan God, so Lord Beerus wanted to challenge him to a fight."

"That guy? A Super Saiyan God? Not a chance. If you're looking for one, you'll have to wait a few more years."

"Oh? You seem quite knowledgeable about the Super Saiyan God."

This time, it wasn't Whis who spoke, but Beerus—who had just regained consciousness.

At that moment, his expression was far more serious. Having been knocked out in a single blow, he now looked at Eriri with deep apprehension.

"Yo, awake already, purple-skinned big cat?"

Eriri greeted him playfully, waving her hand with a teasing smile.

Beerus' face darkened instantly. Her mocking tone made his already fragile pride as a God of Destruction flare into anger.

"You insolent little...!!!"

"What? Do you want another beating?"

"You...!"

Beerus trembled with rage, but he knew full well he was no match for her. Unable to do anything, he could only stand there, seething silently.

He wasn't about to ask Whis for help either. A loss was a loss, and he wasn't so petty as to deny it.

Their exchange hadn't been private, so Goku and the others clearly heard every word.

When they heard the term "Super Saiyan God," everyone's faces lit up with curiosity.

Goku and Vegeta, in particular, were eager to learn what exactly this "Super Saiyan God" was—and how they might become one themselves.

Without hesitation, Goku flew forward and landed beside Eriri, Beerus, and Whis.

"Um, Eriri, Lord Beerus—what exactly is this Super Saiyan God you're talking about?"

Goku's eyes sparkled with curiosity as he asked.

Beerus turned to look at him, his expression indifferent. But when he saw the eager, inquisitive look in Goku's eyes, something in his demeanor subtly changed.

"The Super Saiyan God is a being that has appeared many times in my dreams—someone said to possess the power to fight me as an equal. Unfortunately, I don't know how such a being comes into existence. However..."

Beerus' tone shifted as his gaze turned once again toward Eriri.

"Since you seem to know so much about the Super Saiyan God, I assume you also know how one is born?"

At those words, Goku's eyes immediately filled with excitement as he looked expectantly at Eriri.

Vegeta, too, stared at her with tense anticipation, his clenched fists betraying his nervousness.

"Of course. There are two methods for a Saiyan to transform into a Super Saiyan God."

"There are two ways to evolve?!"

Eriri's response sent a ripple of surprise through everyone present—everyone except Arifureta, who remained calm. But the rest held their breath, waiting eagerly for her explanation.

Eriri's clear, melodious voice sounded again.

"The first method requires gathering six righteous-hearted Saiyans. By combining their pure energies into one of them, that chosen individual can successfully transform into a Super Saiyan God. However, there's a condition—at least four of those six Saiyans must already be capable of transforming into Super Saiyans."

"That's something you can't achieve right now. At present, including Gohan, Future Trunks, and Baby Trunks, there are only five Saiyans on Earth. You're missing one, meaning it's impossible to meet the basic requirement for the transformation."

"As for the second method, it's a bit more difficult. First, the Saiyan must be capable of transforming into a Super Saiyan 2. Then, through intense training and comprehension, they must awaken the divine ki of the gods. Once that's achieved, the transformation into a Super Saiyan God becomes possible."

"But among the Saiyans present here, the strongest—Son Goku—can only reach Super Saiyan 1. You're still far from being able to awaken divine ki through training."

"I see... No wonder you said it would take a few years before we meet a Super Saiyan God. You're waiting for these Saiyans to have more descendants, aren't you?" Whis nodded knowingly.

"Exactly. I've told you everything you wanted to know. Do as you please—I have no interest in entertaining you further."

With that, Eriri vanished from sight, reappearing an instant later beside Arifureta and Lazuli.

When Arifureta saw her return, she immediately turned her gaze away, naturally slipping her arms around Eriri's right arm as she leaned close, whispering softly to her.

Meanwhile, still standing beside Beerus and Whis, Goku and Vegeta suddenly had a bold thought—if Chi-Chi or Bulma could give birth to another Saiyan child or two, they might be able to gather the six needed for the ritual.

But before that, they both knew they had to grow much stronger. Not only themselves, but their children as well. After all, even if they had the right number, without enough Super Saiyans, the ritual would still fail.

The idea filled both of them with determination.

Still, if there was any way to achieve the transformation through the second method, both were more than willing to try.

Thinking this, Goku turned toward Beerus. From Vegeta's earlier words, he now understood that Beerus was a godlike being. Surely, Beerus knew how to cultivate divine ki.

If he could learn from him, it might help him grasp that power sooner.

As for Beerus, after hearing the transformation requirements, his interest in the Super Saiyan God temporarily waned.

After all, his naps often lasted for years. If he simply returned to Beerus' Planet for a quick nap, by the time he woke again, perhaps the Super Saiyan God would have already appeared.

Though he had just met someone stronger than himself, what Beerus truly sought was a fair, exhilarating battle—not one where he was defeated in a single move. That kind of fight held no enjoyment.

Even so, he remained intrigued by the idea of facing a Super Saiyan God someday.

"Hmph, how dull. Whis, we're going back."

"Wait, Lord Beerus!"

Before Whis could respond, Goku suddenly called out to stop Beerus.

"Hmm? What is it now?"

"Lord Beerus, could you help me train? I want to quickly comprehend divine ki and become a Super Saiyan God."

Goku spoke earnestly, his eyes filled with determination.

"Hmph, I don't have time to play teacher," Beerus replied coldly. He had no interest in taking on a disciple—he'd rather spend that time napping.

However, the thought of seeing the Super Saiyan God sooner made him glance at Whis. Then, pretending to sound casual, he said to the disappointed Goku:

"Hey, Saiyan boy. If you want to learn how to sense divine ki, ask Whis to teach you."

"Huh? Whis is strong too?"

Goku looked at Whis in surprise. Other than catching Beerus earlier when Eriri sent him flying, Whis hadn't shown any hint of power, so Goku had no idea how strong he really was.

Because Whis addressed Beerus as "Lord," Goku had simply assumed he was some kind of attendant, not a powerful being.

"Oh-ho-ho-ho, yes. While I do serve as Lord Beerus' attendant, I also happen to be his teacher."

Whis chuckled softly, covering his mouth with one hand.

"WHAT?!"

Goku's jaw dropped, and even Vegeta and the others nearby stared in shock at the calm, smiling Whis.

"In that case... Whis, please train me!"

"Well, I suppose it's not impossible. If you can treat me to a meal that satisfies me, I'll take you to Beerus' Planet to train."

"No problem! I'll have Chi-Chi cook tons of delicious food for you!"

Goku accepted the condition without hesitation.

At the mention of food, Beerus' catlike ears perked up immediately. He even swallowed unconsciously, his curiosity piqued.

"Hey, that Chi-Chi woman's cooking—is it really that good?"

"Of course! Chi-Chi's cooking is my favorite!"

"Excellent! Then take us to her at once!"

Beerus' excitement flared, and he quickly urged Goku to move.

Seeing this, Vegeta, who also wanted to train under Whis, immediately stepped forward.

"Wait, Lord Beerus, Lord Whis—allow me to handle the food arrangements. Goku's wife can only make simple home-cooked meals. I can provide you with a full array of Earth's finest cuisine."

"Oh? Is that so?"

Beerus looked at Vegeta, then turned toward Goku.

"Haha, Vegeta's right. Bulma's super rich—she's got lots of chefs!"

Goku scratched his head, smiling sheepishly.

"Very well, then. Vegeta, take me and Whis to taste Earth's finest foods."

"As you command!"

Vegeta responded respectfully. Despite Beerus being effortlessly defeated by Eriri, Vegeta's fear and reverence for the God of Destruction hadn't diminished one bit.

Before taking off toward West City, Vegeta turned to Goku and said:

"Kakarot, use Instant Transmission to go to Bulma. Tell her to head to West City ahead of us and prepare everything. Make sure she knows what's going on."

"Got it."

Goku nodded, bringing his index and middle fingers to his forehead as he closed his eyes to sense Bulma's ki.

In the next instant, whoosh—his figure vanished.

Neither Beerus nor Whis seemed surprised in the slightest. They immediately recognized the technique.

Compared to the Supreme Kai's Instantaneous Movement, the Yardrat version Goku used was like a child's trick—interesting, but far less refined.

Vegeta then led Beerus and Whis as they sped toward West City without even bothering to say goodbye to Krillin and the others.

Watching Goku's disappearance, Seventeen and Sixteen exchanged weary looks.

Knowing that Goku would soon be training under the mentor of a God of Destruction, they realized that defeating him would soon become nearly impossible.

For Seventeen, it didn't matter much—he had only been tagging along with Sixteen out of boredom anyway.

As for Sixteen, after a moment of silent reflection, he finally abandoned his plan to target Goku altogether.
