I am aware that Lady Wei had been staring at me since we started eating. "Forgive me, Your Majesty," she murmurs. She averts her attention to her food.
"By the way, did you visit your old residence here?" I ask. She looks at me again.
"After your family was exiled by the late emperor, it became our property and serves as a villa. Two months ago, I sent Eunuch Liu to put back all the Wei belongings that were kept in the storage."
"I haven't sent you the documents yet, but all the confiscated properties and belongings of the families that suffer injustice because of Father's foolishness will be given back to the descendants of the owners," I added.
She looks confused but happy. "Forgive my father for being a bad emperor and letting himself be fooled by those officials who see your father as a threat. I know it's been a lot. I've been investigating some cases from twenty years since my father chose a different path."
