I look at my wife, who was busy writing. She was summarizing the books and ledgers that the empress told her to handle. I look at the paper and frown when I see how she writes.
"Hua'er, do you write horizontally?" I ask. She was startled and flipped the page, then raised her head to meet my gaze. She looks nervous, as if she were caught doing something bad. I sit next to her and grab the paper.
"Why do you look nervous, hmm? Are you writing something that you shouldn't?" I questioned. I shift my gaze and start reading. She was summarizing about...
"Shen Xu? Why are you working on this?" I ask. She sighed and turned her body around to face me.
"Her Majesty's men managed to sneak into Lord She's office to get his ledger about his undesirable transaction from several officers. I'm making summaries and copies as well. There will be a little trouble that she will assign to the three of you."
