Song Jialun's POV
I feel like my body turns cold while looking at my wife, wiping the blood on her nose and lips. Fear takes over my mind. I killed people. I saw people die. But losing the person you care for right in front of you was the worst feeling you'll ever experience.
The physician came, and he checked my wife's pulse right away. He also checks her eyes. He checks her pulse again, and silence bleeds my ears. "What happened to her, Physician Ling?" I questioned. He looks at me.
"She was poisoned," he reported. I frowned and looked at my wife. "How come? She wasn't wounded during the battle," I stated.
He bows his head before he continues to explain. "Don't worry. She is fine. Her body reacts to the poison, but..." he paused. He looks at me intently.
