Maxwell's grip on Andrew's hand while they were in between tests reminded Andrew that while the man was putting on a brave face, he hated Doctors.
He wasn't showing any other outwardly signs that he was displeased or distressed. His pheromones were in tight control, his facial expression was normal. He wasn't even a different shade from his usual.
It was just the soft, tight flutter of his grip on Andrew's that told him that he was uncomfortable and was glad that Andrew was there.
