I looked at my reflection in my mirror, observing any faults in my uniform, arranging my skirt, "Wow, I look nice." I said, then blew a kiss at my reflection in the mirror. Taking my phone, I took a selfie and posted it on my Instagram with the caption, 'First day at Eva High. How do I look?'
I took my backpack and went downstairs to the kitchen to get myself something to eat. I settled for a bunch of bananas, decided not to eat anything heavy.
My dad was at the dining table, eating a tower of pancakes that my mum had made for breakfast. "Good morning, Dad. Does it taste good?" "Yeah, it is." He said, nodding.
"Where's mum?" I said, then ate out of my banana. "She's upstairs getting ready for work. She's dropping you off at school, right?" My dad said, raising a curious brow. I nodded my head, then the doorbell rang. I left the kitchen and went to answer the door.
Opening it, I saw a man standing at the door, "Excuse me, miss, but Miss Jung would love it if you followed her to school." He moved away so Ha-ri would come into view. She waved and came down from the car.
"Thank you, Mr. Park. We will meet you soon." She said with a smile, which Mr. Park returned the smile with a tip of his hat and walked back to the car. Ha-ri turned back to me, "Your house is really pretty." She said, admiring its surroundings.
"Thank you," I said with a smile. "I decided that you'll be following me to school from now on when your mum is busy." I blinked in confusion, "Huh?"
"That way, I think it would be nice if I keep an eye on you so you wouldn't get into trouble on the first day." She finished, then looked at my afro puff. She gasped, "Your hair smells like coconut. Can I touch it?" I nodded, and she felt my hair, "Wow, so soft and fluffy."
I giggled at her behaviour, she pulled her hand away in embarrassment, "Sorry, I got too distracted. Let's get going then. Your mum already knows that I'm taking you to school."
I nodded, then pulled her inside the house. "Ah, but I'm wearing shoes!" She squeaked. I pulled her into the kitchen, where my dad sat eating.
"Dad," I said, getting the attention of my dad. He looked up from his phone and smiled at me. Ha-ri bowed immediately, "Hi, and you are?" My dad said, still smiling.
"I'm Jung Ha-ri, Ji seo's friend." She replied meekly. "Are you Ji-min's daughter?" My dad asked. "Yes." She nodded. "Nice to meet you." He turned to me, "Are you going to school now?"
"Yes. Ha-ri is taking me. Bye, Dad." I said before grabbing my bag from the kitchen floor and going out of the kitchen with Ha-ri, who greeted my dad goodbye. We went outside and got into the car. A few minutes later, we arrived at school. We got out of the car and waved Mr. Park goodbye.
"Welcome to hell, Ji seo." Ha-ri sighed before we walked into the school garden, and a lot of students were staring, which made me very uncomfortable. "I don't like the stares I'm getting," I whispered.
"Well, that's because you're the only black girl and foreigner in our school, and you are pretty, so of course they will stare." She said, whispering back. I walked by a group of students and I heard one of them saying, "Wow, she's really pretty and she's walking with Jung Ha-ri. Do you think she's an Alpha too?"
I was too distracted by what the students around me were saying that I failed to notice someone walking up to me. I bumped into his chest. I looked up, "Oh, I'm so sorry." My breathing stopped when I received a harsh glare from him.
"Watch where you are going, new girl, not everyone loves being a wall." He said in a cold yet calm voice before walking off. "Okay, first of all, your reply was so rude," I yelled, which made him stop.
Ha-ri pinched my elbow, giving me a subtle message that I should stop, but I wasn't fazed. "I know that I should have been focusing on where I was walking to, but what about you, huh? You weren't blind, and I know for a fact that you saw me, but you were thinking that I would move aside for you. Who do you think you are? The president?"
He turned around slowly, "You are talking about blindness, but you're the one wearing glasses, and you were the one who bumped into me. I don't have time for this." He rolled his eyes before walking away.
Ha-ri flicked my forehead, "Ow! What was that for?!" I whined, massaging my forehead. "Do you love trouble? Why were you picking a fight on your first day?!" She said, pulling me away from the crowd that formed when I was arguing with that guy from earlier.
"The nerve of that guy! Like I know I bumped into him, but he should have been nicer." I huffed, folding my arms. "Do you know who he is? He is Kim Min-ho." She said with widened eyes.
"So? I don't care. Who is he anyway?" I rolled my eyes. "He is one of the students I told you to stay away from!" She yelled. My eyes widened. "Who is he?" "Kim Min-ho." She answered. "He is the son of the owner of this school, and he is the 2nd heir of the Royal Kim's company. He is like the richest in this school, and I'm not talking about parents' money. He has his own company just like me, but his is very big. You're very lucky you didn't fall into the hands of Jeon Arin or Min Taemin."
"Why didn't you come in between us and stop me from talking?" I said but received a glare from Ha-ri, "I pinched your arm, trying to tell you to stop but you were so stubborn. But I couldn't do anything, because no one dares to come in between the big three matters or else they will suffer greatly." She said in a serious tone.
"How?" I stopped walking and stared at her. "You don't want to know." She finished before she pulled me into the school building.
