Leo leaned closer, lowering his voice until it brushed like velvet against her ear. "Bunny," he murmured, "don't tell me you want to drink wine too."
Bella's cheeks reddened even more. "I just wanted a sip…" she muttered, her voice small and shy.
His chuckle was low and warm, the kind that made her chest flutter. "You sure you want that?" he asked, lifting his own glass, the one he had already been drinking from, and setting it between them. "Last time you drank, you tried to make peace with Mr. Chair."
Her eyes went wide. "Leo! I told you not to remember those things!"
He grinned, leaning back as she buried her face in her hands again. "You told it you were married and that it should let you go," he added casually, his tone perfectly straight. "It was hard to argue with that logic."
Bella groaned, hiding her face deeper in her palms while he watched her with quiet affection, the corners of his lips still curved in that soft, teasing smile.
