Chapter 575 - Chapter 497: The Rampaging Carriage

Chapter 497: The Rampaging Carriage

"Why do you look so worried? Is something bothering you? If there's something you want to say, then tell me—I'm here to listen."

Han Zhengyun looked at Ye Tian, genuinely concerned about him. Just then, Ye Tian responded to her, saying, "Heh, you don't need to worry about me. It's just... I want to go back. But right now, I haven't found a way to return."

"You want to go back? If I can help you, I absolutely will. But at the moment, I honestly don't know how to make that happen. How about this—while you stay here, I'll try my best to gather information for you."

"Hmm. Do you have any stories about Journey to the West here?"

In the past, Ye Tian had entered the world of Journey to the West through its story. So now, if he could find the story again here, maybe—just maybe—he could once more enter that world.

"Journey to the West?"

"Yeah."

She thought for a moment, then said, "You mean the story of Sun Wukong and his journey?"

"You know it?"

"Yes, I do. Here on the Tianwu Continent, that story actually exists!"

Ye Tian's heart lifted when he heard that. If Han Zhengyun knew the story, maybe there really was a way for him to return to the Journey to the West world through it.

"In that case, can you help me find the origin of the story? Like, who the author was?"

"Heh, the author? He must've died long ago. That story's been passed down in our world for ages. So if you're trying to find the author now, it's impossible."

What she said made a lot of sense to Ye Tian.

Yeah—it was just a story. And one that had existed for who knows how many years.

"Then what about the storyteller? Is there any record of them?"

"No."

Ye Tian's heart sank with disappointment again. He'd hoped to return quickly, but now he knew it wouldn't happen any time soon.

"Alright then. In that case, I want to go out for a walk and clear my head. I'll come back later."

"I'll go with you!"

"No need. I'll go alone."

With that, he pushed open the door and stepped outside. He walked aimlessly down the road. Right now, if he could somehow find the way home, how great that would be.

But he couldn't. Not now. He felt completely lost. Even if he wanted to go back, he needed a way first. And without one, going back was just impossible.

"Move! Get out of the way, now! Can't you hear me? Who the hell stands in the road like that?!"

Ye Tian was walking along a road when suddenly several carriages came charging toward him. In the blink of an eye, he saw that a woman up ahead was about to be hit by one.

Ye Tian moved quickly, leaping forward and pulling the woman to safety.

The woman gasped in shock, and the people on the carriage pulled to a stop and shouted, "Who the hell are you? You dare block our carriage? You have a death wish?"

"Who the hell are you? So reckless and lawless, driving your carriage like that through here? Do you have any idea how close you were to killing someone just now?"

Ye Tian was right—the arrogance in their eyes showed they didn't care about the law at all. Rampaging through the streets like this, they clearly thought nothing of the people around them. Did they even respect any laws?

"Hmph! You damn fool!"

A voice from inside the carriage said, "Whoever it is, if they dared offend this young master—kill them!"

"Yes, Young Master Chen!"

The man who replied looked at Ye Tian and said, "Hmph, looks like you're dead today. If you die, you've only got yourself to blame for offending our young master!"

He drew a blade and lunged straight at Ye Tian.

"Hmph, you think this is enough to kill me? That's laughable."

Ye Tian scoffed at the thought. This man truly believed he could kill him with such an attack? Ridiculous—it was downright insulting.

Clang!

"What?!"

As the blade came down, Ye Tian caught it between just two fingers.

"Let go!"

"You think I'll let go just because you told me to? Besides, you're trying to kill me—should I not fight back?"

"Who the hell are you?"

The man was stunned to see Ye Tian stop his blade with two fingers. Who was this guy? How could anyone do that?

"You hear that? We're from the Royal Palace! If you don't let go, you're in for a world of trouble!"

"Fine, I'll let go."

Crack!

With a crisp snap, the blade shattered between Ye Tian's fingers, falling to the ground in pieces. The man's face went pale. Was this guy even human?

"What's going on? Is it handled yet? If it is, hurry up—we still need to get back in time for the wedding."

Just then, Ye Tian heard that and said, "Your men are honestly pathetic. They can't even handle one of my fingers."

"What? They can't even beat your finger?"

The voice from the carriage snapped, and a man stepped down, his gaze fixed on Ye Tian with killing intent in his eyes.

"Who are you to challenge the Royal Palace? Do you even know who I am? I'm Young Master Chen!"

Chen Shao looked at Ye Tian and said coldly, "Anyone who offends me—ends up with a miserable fate. Didn't you know?"

"Chen Shao, huh?"

Ye Tian chuckled and said, "And you think that name means anything to me?"

Chen Taotian stared hard at Ye Tian. "Heh. So you really don't take me seriously. Fine. Everyone—attack together! No matter how strong he is, I want him skinned alive today!"
