Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Reflection

"That's it for today, you're all dismissed." A man in his mid forties who stood in front of six young people within the age grade of eighteen to twenty-one, said as he turned around and started walking away.

"Yes Sir Luke!!" They all chorused in unison.

The six young people stood frozen, their hands tightly gripping the hilt of their swords not daring to take a step, the memories of past classes still raw in their mind.

"What are you kids still doing here? I said you can go." Luke said with a grin as he tilted his head slightly backwards to look at his students.

"Phew!!" They all sighed in relief and a girl in the middle that was apparently holding her breath bent and took a deep breath but that was a mistake because as she raised her head she saw Luke was no longer standing where he once was.

"Shit." The girl reflexively jumped up high into the air.

"That was nice but I can jump too." Luke grinned as hovering behind her he twisted and kicked her back to the ground.

"That was good Rachael, okay now class is dismissed. Remember you don't know how the enemy will react so you have to be prepared for anything."

Luke said with a smile as he flew away from the training grounds in the royal knights academy.

Luke was an instructor in the royal knights academy as well as the father of Jayden and Myra, his elder sister, and he was currently heading to the forbidden Forest.

After about thirty minutes of flying out of the royal capital He finally reached the entrance to the forbidden Forest.

It wasn't actually forbidden in a sense it was just tagged forbidden because it was the home to a lot of bandits and exiled criminals.

He finally arrived at an old house hidden by trees with moss growing on the walls and mushrooms covering the pathway.

"Finally, these bandits were getting kind of annoying." Luke said as he looked back at a trail of unconscious bandits sprawled on the ground.

"Thank goodness I brought this along with me." He smiled as he raised up a wooden sword that was slightly chipped at the side.

"That last one was strong, he even managed to chip my sword, oh well what a waste of talent."

He walked to the door and knocked thrice before the door creaked open on its own.

"I think that means I should come in, not really a fan of the occultic but what can I do, my son must be the strongest." Luke says I see clenched his fist.

He walked in and was about to close the door when it closed on its own.

He strained his eyes trying to adjust to the darkness in the room and saw an old lady sitting on a chair.

"Are you the...." Luke started before he was interrupted as the old lady stood up and motioned him to come to the other room.

Luke warily followed her in as he studied her from behind. She was wearing a black, worn out robe that covered her whole body with a hood that covered her face leaving only a long crooked nose and a pair of purple misty eyes to be seen.

They entered into a room lit with purple candles and torches and Luke was motioned to sit at a table.

They sat around a table with a cauldron atop the table and a pair of animal parts along with herbs and flowers of different sorts.

"What do you seek, o young one, be it within my power I shall grant to you for a price." The witch said in a ghastly tone.

"I wish to see into the future. I need to know something." Luke said with a firm voice although he hands were shivering below the table.

"I should have come with Sarah. Meeting a witch is way more different than hearing about one, like she literally has a flying broom." Luke thought as he glanced up at the broom hanging onto the wall.

"How many years into the future do you wish to see?" The witch replied in a neutral tone.

"Ten thousand years into the future will do." Luke said quietly.

For the first time the witch raised up her head and when Luke saw her face he felt like vomiting. Her face was disfigured with acne, boils and bumps as well as scars and her mouth was crooked as well.

"It will cost you a lot, are you sure you wish to proceed." The witch said with a glint of greed in her eyes.

For the first time since meeting the witch this was the first time he noticed an emotion from her.

"Yes, I'm absolutely sure." Luke said with determination as he brought out a bag of gold coins and placed them on the table.

"Fine. What do you wish to look into the future for?" The witch said before standing up and raising her arms out as she started to chant some incantations in a spine-chilling voice.

All of a sudden a grey, smoky screen appeared in front of the two of them and the witch turned to Luke for affirmation.

"I'm looking for the magic called logic disruption." Luke said.

"Logic disruption, never heard of it hope it's interesting." The witch thought.

"Okay. I see this is a new magic, even in my many, many years I haven't heard of this power." The witch said emphasizing on the many, many years part.

"Am I wrong?" The witch questioned quizzically.

"No, you're not". Luke said as he looked at her closely.

"Okay, let's get on with it." The witch said as drawing a few symbols in the air the screen started to clear, showing the future logic disruption held.
