Chapter 473 - Kid's Day Out

I don't own DC

CLICK. Violet Rosen, intelligent, ginger, superbabe Volcana, and MILF came home in the morning after a long night. Quietly shut the front door to her apartment.

"Morning." Kathy Marten, brainy, blonde. teen-looking college student and Superbabe Supergirl greeted her roommate. "I made coffee." She said, reading some sort of fancy psychology book that went over Violet's head.

"Thanks. Did Sarah do her homework?" Violet asked, taking a cup of Kathy's coffee.

"It's Saturday. No homework." Kathy said as Violet blinked and rolled her eyes.

"Right. Sorry." She rubbed them, "Long night… Five deliveries and…" she counted thoughtfully. "10 guys? All of them… younger than me." She noted as Kathy chuckled. "…Ugh." Violet sat her magnificent MILF backside in her armchair. "…Anything I should know about?"

"We ate mac and cheese, watched a movie." Kathy noted. "I got my dissertation ready for today."

"You said it was Saturday?"

"Yeah. Well. They had to push it back a couple of times." Kathy replied tiredly, "Me too, for that matter. Orders." She said as Violet just replied sleepily.

"Orders."

"Oh uh… There was a…" Kathy said, suddenly waving her phone. "A warning? Earlier? Supervillian thing… but Orders didn't text me, so I'm sure it's fine." She declared.

"Which Supervillian?" Violet asked hesitantly as she frowned.

"Uh… Ratcatcher?" she said as Violet shivered.

"Ugh. Gross."

"Yeah, well. It was just a be aware situation." Kathy replied, "No need to evacuate." She said, double-checking her phone. "Yeah. No need to-"

Suddenly, the floor split open, and Violet and Kathy screamed in terror as a giant rat's head burst through it, screeching horrifically as they screamed and stared at it, when just as quickly as it appeared, it vanished back into a hole.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!"

REEEE! REEEEEEE!!

"Oh my god!" Violet screamed as she and Kathy got onto the table, as head after head of RAT busted through. "OH MY GOD!" They stood on the table, screaming as the rats continued to scream and broke through the floor. "SARAH!" Violet suddenly leaped off the table, and goomba stomped a giant rat head. It shrieked and dove back under the floor as she rushed to her daughter's room, leaping onto the bed and waking her up before holding her to her body.

"Mommy!" she shrieked happily as Kathy rushed into the room after them, slamming the door shut behind her. Sarah was just happy to see her mouth; she was unaware of the horrifying rats popping out of the floor in the living room. Kathy shoved the dresser in front of the door before leaping onto the bed with Sarah and Violet. "What's that noise?"

The shrieking increased along with various other screams of terror, and various small explosions… REEEEEEEE!!

20 minutes of horrifying rats later.

"For the love of…" Violet restrained herself as they packed their bags and clambered out onto the fire escape. It was unsafe to walk in the living room now because the holes made the floor unstable. Violet had packed a small suitcase for her and Kathy, while Kathy helped Sarah with packing some things of her own. "What are the ODDS!?" Violet sighed as she hefted Sarah onto the fire escape. Kathy held Sarah's hand on the fire escape. "That a pack of R.A.T.S would break through our floor!?"

"And now our floor looks like Swiss cheese."

"Is that why the mice came?" asked Sarah innocently as the two blinked at her. Kathy smiled.

"That's right." She said, mice were easier to write off than giant rats. "The mice came for the cheese." She then turned to Violet as she crawled out of the window onto the fire escape and groaned, rubbing her back. "…What are we going to do?" she asked softly. Violet stared at her.

"Um… Ronnie-Bell?"

"They're fumigating and staying at the Superbabes' house. Which is now occupie,d so we can't go there either."

"We have giant R.A.T.S and they're fumigating!" Violet sighed. "Izzy?"

"Fumigating." Violet stared at her.

"…You can't be serious." Kathy held up her phone.

"JUST now. This rat thing is all over. She's bunking with Mike and Joy." She checked her phone. "Lucy's with Bessie. The suburbs appear to be fine, but everyone seems to be doubling up."

"…Hotel?" Violet asked hesitantingly as Kathy slowly shook her head.

"Wayne Industries just booked every single available hotel room for low-income families affected by this. We… according to Veronica's accounting, are middle class." Violet sighed.

"…curse Veronica and her math savant abilities." She rubbed her head, "…What are we going to do?" Kathy hesitated for a second, then said rather hesitantly.

"I have an idea."

"What is it?" Violet asked as Kathy flinched.

"You're not going to like it."

"Try me. Otherwise, we're sleeping in a fumigation tent!" Violet replied.

"Camping!" cheered Sarah as they smiled. "Let's go camping!" Violet smiled warmly and sighed.

"Not in this tent, sweetie." She said as Kathy tapped her phone.

"…You know a guy who will happily put us up." Kathy declared. Violet stared at her and sighed loudly, closing her eyes and rubbing her eyelids tiredly.

"…Are you serious?"

"If we don't use him for a rainy day like this, why use him at all?"

"I don't- I don't USE him!" Violet said under her breath, covering Sarah's innocent ears with her hands.

"From what I've studied, you use him more than he uses you." Violet glared at her wide-eyed, and Kathy held up her hands. "Just ASK him? Okay? Otherwise, who KNOWS how long we'll be out of a house." She gestured inside their apartment, and their swiss cheese flooring.

"Haaah…" Violet sighed, pulled her hands away from Sarah's ears, and picked up her phone, scrolling through her contacts. "He's probably not even-Oh… hey. So…" she rubbed her head. "…Have you looked at the news? Okay… well. I need a favor."

30 minutes later.

"WOW!! It's a castle!!" cheered Sarah, gazing in awe at Goliath Manor as Kathy and Violet unbuckled their seatbelts. Getting out of the car. Violet let Sarah out of her car seat. The young girl scrambled towards the front door.

"Sarah, wait for us!" Violet replied as Kathy grabbed their bags.

"Let her. There's a gate. Not like a bunch of cars are going to be driving by." Kathy said as Violet frowned at her.

"Doesn't mean I want her playing in the road." She said as Kathy nodded.

"Right. I get it." Kathy replied, handing her one of the suitcases, "Just saying, let her be excited for being in a 'castle'." She smiled, "How many little 'princesses' get to stay in a castle?" Violet sighed, running her hand through her ginger hair before approaching the front door with Kathy.

"Don't do the thing," Violet said under her breath as Kathy replied.

"I won't," she said, but before either of them could knock, Sarah raised her hand and banged on the door.

"Supergirls!" Violet turned to Kathy, who looked at her, surprised, and shrugged her seductive shoulders.

"…I did not teach her that I wouldn't do that to you." She said under her breath as Violet smiled down at her daughter.

"…Sarah, who taught you to say that?"

"But you're Supergirls." Violet turned back to Kathy, who could only smile.

"Y-yeah… I do dress up as Supergirl… but who taught you to knock and say that?" she said sweetly. "…Sarah, please tell your mommy that I didn't teach you that."

"Teach me what?" Innocent as a baby.

But then the door swung open and Gabe stood there clean and shaven, grinning at them in rather nice clothes. Not like a guy who really, REALLY wanted to have sex with Violet. "Hello!" Sarah smiled meekly at him but clung to her mother's shapely leg, then her hand. "You must be Sarah." He smiled at her as she waved.

"Hi."

"Hi. I'm Gabe. Come on in."

"Is this your castle?" she asked as Violet and Kathy followed her in.

"That's right!" he said, "and I got a room all ready for you." He said, smiling like a man inviting her into the candy factory…

…It was a little weird.

"Alright. Ms. Marten." He led them upstairs and opened one of his spare bedrooms, far down the hall from his own. "A room for you." He opened the door right next to it. "For Ms. Rosen AND! Right across the hall-" he opened the final door, letting Sarah squeal at the sight of the massive bed before rushing into the room. Climbing onto the bed and naturally jumping on it. The thing was pretty much three times the size of her bed at home.

"Sarah, don't jump on the bed!" Violet said, embarrassed.

"Nah, she can go right ahead. I got like five others like it." Violet glared at him ,and he realized it wasn't the potential damage she could cause the bed but the fact that she was jumping on it at all. "Right. You're the mother." Sarah bounced her skinny ginger butt on the bed and gasped.

"Mommy! Look how BIG that TV is! It's as big as my wall!" at the apartment, clearly. It wasn't as big as the wall in her CURRENT room.

"Can't I talk to you?" she grabbed Gabe, "KATHY."

"Right. Let's see if we can find something fun…" Kathy said, walking in and actually looking at it. HOLY TV…"

"WHOA!?" Gabe laughed as Violet yanked him from the room and pressed him to the wall. "Yes?"

"First off…" she sighed, "…Thank you for letting us stay here." She said Gabe laughed.

"What are you kidding? I'd let all the Superbabes stay here if I could. You and whoever you want to bring with you are welcome ANYTIME." He then wiggled his eyebrows. "ANYTIME." He added as she rolled her eyes, but smiled faintly.

"…I'm not going to have sex with you with my daughter under this roof."

"No sex. Scouts honor." He said, crossing his heart and raising his other hand. She narrowed her eyes. "You asked me for a favor and I am NOTHING if not a gentleman. I don't expect any compensation for my generous good deed-" she covered his mouth, staring into his eyes, making sure Sarah wasn't watching before pulling her hand away and giving him a quick kiss.

"Not a word."

"Yes, Ma'am." He grinned, "So. What can I get you ladies? Juice? Water? Order in Pizza? It's lunchtime after all."

"Oh! CRAP." Kathy snarled, checking her watch, and hopping off the bed as she handed the remote to Sarah and got up. "I'm going to be late, I have to go. I'll be back in a couple of hours." Sarah was far too engrossed with the big TV as Kathy rushed out. "Thanks for letting us stay Gabe."

"Sure." He said, waving her off as Violet sighed. "Where is she going?"

"She has a psychology dissertation to present."

"Ha-ha…" he started to chuckle, only to stop at the look on her face. "Wait, seriously?"

"Yes." She replied seriously. "She's already put it off twice."

Gabe hesitated, then after a moment. "A psychology dissertation?"

"Yeah. She has a life other than looking pretty." She crossed her arms under her breasts and frowned at him. "We ALL do." She said as Gabe cleared his throat.

"So… uh… Sarah? How do you like your room?" he asked, walking in as she picked a puppet show to watch.

"It's so big!" she said cheerily as Gabe grinned, nodding in understanding. "I'm kinda sad we couldn't go camping through." She said as he raised an eyebrow at that.

"Oh yeah?" he turned to Violet, who could only reply.

"She heard the word 'Tent' and it's in her head now-" Gabe pursed his lips and smiled.

"Well, I'll leave you to it. You need anything you let me know." However, he suddenly rushed off, sliding down the banister. Violet didn't think too much about it, simply enjoying the quality time with her daughter.

Which naturally meant it wasn't going to last. She wasn't sure how long she was playing with Sarah, but Gabe hadn't shown up for a while… and Kathy hadn't returned, but she sent a message. 'Out with friends', which could mean anything. Kathy was a social drinker, so she was probably celebrating. She hadn't gotten any other messages apart from the dreaded.

'I need you to cover for a couple of hours.'

She read the message on her phone, stood up, and had a rather… animated conversation in the bathroom.

"What the fuck do you MEAN I have to cover for a couple of hours?!"

"Well, you're particularly cranky today."

"My apartment living room looks like Swiss cheese!"

"Which is why I need you to cover for a couple of hours. No deliveries. You don't even have to get in costume. Just work the phones, keep the girls organized. You're the only one available I trust to do that." Violet rubbed her eyes.

"I don't have anyone to watch Sarah."

"You have that idiot to do it. She'll be fine until either you or Kathy gets back… It's a toss-up."

"I'm not leaving my child's safety to a 'toss-up'!"

"You have him eating out of the palm of your hand… metaphorically speaking. Just tell him to watch her and he'll do it." Violet groaned.

"…Swear to me nothing bad will happen."

"I swear nothing bad will happen." Orders said almost immediately. Violet took another breath.

"Okay. Two hours."

"More than fair. I'll even have Freya drive you."

"I really don't want Freya to drive me," Violet replied nervously, but Orders was curt.

"She just left her house, she'll be there in five."

"Isn't it a thirty-minute drive?" but Orders had already hung up, she sighed, rubbing her eyes again as she put on a smile and walked out of the bathroom. "…Sarah? Honey? Mommy has to go in to work for a little bit… will you be a good girl for Gabe?"

"Uh-huh…" Sarah said, watching the big TV as Violet sighed, kissed her daughter on the forehead, then walked out of the room. "Gabe? GABE!" she shouted, looking for him throughout his manor. He wasn't in his room, so she went downstairs. "Gabe?"

"Yeah! Sorry! Was… doing something." He said, coming in from the backyard. Grinning at her. "…Hey, can Sarah swim?"

"Yes. But I want her to wear floaties-why?" she asked.

"Just in case," he said, "Anyway what's up? Did you need something?" he asked.

"I need you to watch Sarah." She said as he blinked

"Sure." He said with a shrug and a smile. "No problem. How hard can it be?" she stared at him. "I promise you I'm taking this responsibility seriously." He said without verbal prompting.

"I'll be back soon, just make sure she doesn't go crazy." She said as Gabe nodded and walked her out of the manor, already finding a woman on a Daisy Yellow Motorcycle waiting for them, holding a spare helmet. "…If I die, don't let my ex-husband get custody."

"You'll be fine." Freya said, "Just hold onto my waist." She said as Violet took a breath and pulled on the helmet, they got onto the bike with Freya, grabbing onto her waist, before SCREAMING as Freya sped out of the driveway, and passed the gate before Gabe could say anything more. Once the screaming Violet was long gone, he rushed back into the house and too the backyard once again.

Sarah watched TV for another… maybe half-hour, when Gabe poked his head in. "Hey kiddo-" he paused, then corrected himself, maybe a nickname might be too soon. "Hey, Sarah. How are you doing?"

"Fine." She said meekly as he looked at the puppets on TV, then turned his attention back to her.

"Want to see something cool?" he asked as she blinked at him.

"Something cool?"

"Yeah. Come on." He said cheerfully as she hopped off the bed and followed him, taking his hand as she bounced down the stairs with him, reaching the bottom, and he led her towards the back door. "You have a POOL!" she squealed, looking at the water with delight as he smiled.

"You can't go swimming without floaties. Your mother said." He declared before pointing, "But have a look at that."

"GAAAASP!!" she giggled, "It's a TENT!"

Gabe brought out the old tent, which admittedly hadn't seen much use since his grandfather left him his estate and fortune. But he still knew how to set up the thing. "It might smell like boy, but it's still good." He said he had moved some lounge chairs and set the tent up on the deck away from the pool as Sarah scrambled inside, giggling cheerfully as he grinned and joined her inside.

"This is so cool!"

"Well, I'm glad you like it." It was a pretty luxurious tent of his grandfather's design, cots and sleeping bags, and a couple of lanterns. "I took the liberty of not setting up a pee bucket for us." He said, lying down on one of the cots as she danced around.

"Can we roast marshmallows?!" she said excitedly as he smiled faintly.

"I don't know. I PROB-ably…" he pulled out an odd little device, it looked like a rocket ship, with its engines pointing upward. "Shouldn't let you play with FIRE!" he turned it on, and a firm heat began to generate from the ends, which were governed with a grill-like design. Then chopsticks and marshmallows. "Don't tell your mom." He grinned as she giggled, breaking the chopsticks, and he speared a marshmallow.

"Do you camp all the time?"

"No… not as much." He said, handing her one of the speared marshmallows and slowly showing her how to roast them. "I used to all the time with my grandpa. But my parents' idea of camping was getting in a big fancy RV. Don't really have a lot of opportunities to go camping anymore."

"I'd go camping with you." He smiled and chuckled.

"Ask your mom and maybe we can…" he replied, "If she says yes, I'd happily take you both camping." He added as she giggled. "Alright, now you better eat that before it burns."

"But burning is fun!" she said, giggling as he laughed with her.

"YEAH, but toasted marshmallows are delicious." He said, before breaking out the chocolate and the graham crackers. "And S'mores are better!" before helping her make one. "They are my favorite… speaking of favorite… what's your mom's favorite food?" he asked, "I was thinking of making it for dinner tonight."

"Hmmmn… I don't know." She said after a second, as he sighed, Worth a shot.

"Okay, what do YOU want for dinner?" he asked as she cheered.

"Mac and CHEESE! Cooked in this tent."

"I think I can do that." He grinned, trying to figure out… How.

VROOOM!

"OH MY GOD…" Violet gasped, squeezing tightly to Freya's hips before peeling her hands away once Sleipnir came to a full stop. Getting off the bike, she yanked the helmet off. How are you not ARRESTED?"

"I'm REALLY good at this." Freya said confidently, smiling at Violet as she gave her back the spare helmet. "See you next week."

"I will drive myself, thank you." Violet mumbled nervously, stepping away awkwardly as Freya revved her beloved bike and roared off back into Gotham so quickly she was a yellow streak. She knocked on the door and then just reached for the doorknob; it opened, allowing her inside.

"Gabe? Sarah? I'm back… Kathy?" wondering if her live-in sitter and coworker managed to crawl her way home. She was about to head upstairs and saw the back door open and heard the cheering laughter of her daughter, Sarah. A BIT concerned that she might be in the pool, she rushed out the back door.

"Mommy!" Sarah scrambled out of the tent and wrapped her arms around her mother in a tackle.

"Oh! Hey…" she looked at Gabe, peaking his head out of the tent and waving at her with one of Sarah's favorite books. "…Are you having fun?"

"Gabe's going to make mac and cheese on a camp stove!" she said excitedly.

"Oh, he IS?…" she smiled, looking at him as he shrugged. "Alright… I'm glad you're having fun."

"Can I swim in the pool? Gabe said I had to ask." Violet smiled.

"I packed your floaties, go change into your swimsuit. I'll be right there to help you."

"YEAH!" Sarah scrambled into the house as Violet turned to Gabe.

"…You set up a tent for her?"

"She apparently really wanted to go camping." He said.

"And you didn't set it up inside the house?"

"Where's the fun in that? Besides." He smiled with a sheepish shrug, "…If the tent is outside, I can potentially keep my promise."

"Promise?"

"No sex with you with her under the roof. Never banged in a tent before." She rolled her eyes. "…Do you know how to make mac and cheese on a camp burner?"

"I know how to make mac and cheese."

"Oh, good, then we're already halfway there." He said, "…Want to go put on your swimsuit."

"Down boy…" she said, then after a second. "…But since you did SUCH a good job with her today… I might be convinced to come out here after she goes to sleep."

"No pressure." He said quickly, but clearly excitedly, "…I mean… no pressure. I'm not expecting anything in return for my goodwill…"

"…How about for babysitting?" she asked as he grinned.

"…Oh. Well, I'll definitely accept payment for babysitting…" She gave him a legitimately warm smile before turning around.

"I'm not putting on a bikini in front of you with my daughter around. That's just asking for trouble." She said as he glanced down at himself and his twitching little Gabe, before promptly deciding to take a quick dip and cool off… by the time he calmed down. Violet and Sarah leaped into the pool…

Enjoying the rest of their day.
