The moment Felix stepped over the threshold, the twins seemed to forget the existence of the photo album still open on the dining table. Maya launched herself at his side with an excited, "You came!" while Nathan, a little more reserved but no less pleased, reached up for a quick high-five.
Felix chuckled, the sound warm and genuine. "Of course I came. I brought something, too." He lifted the paper bag slightly, the faint crinkle of its handles filling the quiet. "Your favorite egg tarts from that bakery you like."
"Yay!" Maya beamed, taking his hand to tug him toward the living room without hesitation. Nathan trailed after them, his small steps quick.
Katherine followed them in, her gaze drifting to the other paper bag in Felix's hand. Felix set the tote down on the coffee table. "Just a little something I picked up while I was in Singapore." He gave a small, almost sheepish shrug. "Well… technically, I didn't pick them up myself. I might've had some help."
