Seeing Rumus so composed, everyone calmed down slightly.
"Commander, what should we do now?" a squad captain asked.
Everyone else also looked at Rumus expectantly; it was time to showcase his leadership.
"Don't worry, I already have a plan." Rumus looked at the crowd and said, "I need a squad to scout ahead, who's going?"
As soon as he finished speaking, everyone lowered their heads and remained silent, in stark contrast to their initial reactions.
Even the commander's guard platoon hadn't returned, it was basically a death sentence.
Rumus was somewhat surprised by their reaction.
"No one wants to go?" Rumus frowned and said, "I'll go."
He finished speaking and reached for a soldier's assault rifle. The soldier was startled and retreated a couple of steps with his gun.
"Commander, I'll go."
"I'll go."
Seeing their leader at this point, they all scrambled to volunteer.
In the end, Rumus chose a squad from the major troop and sent them ahead to break through.
