Chapter 45 - A Snake

Anastasia kept her eyes narrowed as she monitored Diya. They had been talking for a while and now, Diya was bringing her some porridge to eat.

"What...?" Diya asked, noticing Anastasia's expression.

"You think porridge is enough to make up for all the pain you caused me?" Anastasia teased, pursing her lips.

"Your tummy is still not good, sistooor..." Diya replied, placing the bowl on the small table beside the bed.

Anastasia let out a light sigh. "My tummy was in pain earlier, but since I was so mad at Daniel, I just endured it," she said, swinging her legs over the edge of the bed. "Is he still not home?" She glanced around, looking for a clock, and then noticed the simple decor in Daniel's room. "He's pretty simple."

Diya looked around and smiled. "Yeah, he is." Even though her relationship with her brother was close, Daniel had never mentioned Anastasia to her before. It was the first time someone had caught his attention, and she hadn't known anything about it.
