The plainly dressed Ye Qiu, following Lin Wanqing and her companions, formed a stark contrast. Those college student participants and their parents couldn't believe that Ye Qiu was also a contestant.
As Ye Qiu followed Lin Wanqing and the other three, along with Teacher Zhu, to the contestant seats, and sat down, at 10:30 in the morning, the lights on the opera house stage lit up. A Steinway piano was already set up there, with soft white light shining down on the seat in front of the piano.
When the host announced the start of the piano competition, the first contestant went up and played the piece "Wedding in the Dream," which Lin Wanqing had already performed. Perhaps because the participant was the first to start, they appeared somewhat panicked at first, but soon settled down, although the piece concluded soon after.
