After more than ten minutes, Liu Chen returned with a few lively carp, but he didn't look well.
His face was quite pale, and his entire body was soaked by the rain.
"I found some food. You can roast it over the fire and fill your stomach first,"
Liu Chen said to Lan Yan.
"What's wrong with you?" Lan Yan noticed Liu Chen walking unsteadily, and even his voice seemed different, somewhat weathered, and sounded like an old man's at first hearing.
"I'm fine. Hurry up and roast the fish and eat. Save one for me. I'll sit here and nap for a while. Maybe the cold outside got to me; I'm feeling a bit chilly."
Liu Chen lay down on the dry grass near the campfire, curled up into a ball.
"Could it be that you caught a cold from the chill?" Lan Yan said, as she touched Liu Chen's forehead but found no signs of fever.
"Don't worry about me; just focus on roasting the fish," Liu Chen told her.
Lan Yan always felt like Liu Chen was hiding something from her.
