Chapter 12 - Her mistress

'Aren't you afraid I'll tell everyone about you?' the barman tried for something again. He wanted nothing more than to see this man leave the pub. Shin laughed loudly.

'I am counting on that. Be a good lad and make sure they all know' Shin said it casually as if he was sending the man home with greetings for the kids. The barman swallowed loudly. These were the words that kept ringing in the barman's head as he descended the stairs into the pubs basement. This was a palace where even he wasn't usually allowed to venture, well at least not on normal days. Today, the tavern was closed, so any man who wanted to quench his thirst would have to do so later or at a different place. The people who had earlier been chased out of the pub had no other choice but to go home and accept the fact that they had lost their coin. Some of them were happy when they saw the silver haired man leave but their expectations were sadly stopped on when the pub remained closed.

Going down one floor, the barman who had blonde hair and black irises, pulled a dusty rug unveiling a five-foot mirror. The mirror was intricately crafted in dragon carvings showcasing an ancient battlefield. The barman placed his hand on the mirror and when it started to shine, he took a step back and kneeled. He waited for a while when a blonde lady appeared at the other end of the mirror. The barman frowned at the woman.

'Why are you calling?' she started with an aloof look on her face. She wasn't even looking at the kneeling man. The man stood up and looked at the woman his frown deepening.

'Where's the mistress?' He asked no longer bothering to show any respect.

'She's busy' She started filing her nails. 'Why are you calling?' The man took a few quick breaths trying to calm himself.

'Mast…Shin is back' The lady stopped filing her nails momentarily, then she laughed.

'Are you that bored Liam? You even make up stories to amuse yourself' She straight up didn't believe him. The man, Liam watched her laugh. 'If this is your idea of jokes and fun? Stop it before the lady find out.'

'I am serious' the man talked his voice low. The lady stopped laughing and looked at Liam as if it was the first time she had seen him.

'Seriously?' she started talking the news with the gravity it deserves. 'Are you sure? Let…' She breathed audibly. 'This better not be a joke Liam. You know what the lady will do to us if this turns out to be merely a jest' she said the last part as a whisper.

'I am not joking!!' The man controlled his breathing. 'Silver hair fairly tall, acts as if he hasn't a care in the world. Ann!!' He had lost his calm. 'Shin is back. You need to tell the lady' Immediately he said this, the lady on the other side of the mirror left in a rush. Liam didn't leave immediately he observed the mirror as It slowly dimmed. He sighed.

'I was almost done with this dump' He muttered as he pulled up the dusty rug and covered the mirror. It was time to open shop again,

The blonde lady walked quick paced through marble open arched halls. Currently she was in a massive palace built somewhere on a high plateau. There was a tranquil silence in the white halls only the tap of the lady's shoes could be heard echoing. Only one thing was rushing in her head, well only two things, her blood and the fright that was Shin. Her lady had a good temper most of the time, but certain topics made her temper quickly change, one such topic was Shin. None of the palace servants or maids knew what the lady's relationship with the man called Shin was. And none of them was courageous enough to ask. The lady stood at huge wooden doors and took deep breaths. After gathering every ounce of carriage she had flowing in her blood, she pushed the door open and walked in.

The room was spacious, especially with is massive open windows which allowed natural light into the room. At the centre of this massive room, was a cushioned chair and on the chair, was a lady in a bathrobe. Her face was caked in green powder and there were cucumbers on her eyes. She was currently facing the windows in a state of slumber. There were some maids working on her Black hair and nails.

'What do you want?' She spoke without even opening her eyes. She had felt the lady's presence the moment she stepped into the house. Her voice had arrogance and annoyance laced in it, yet, it was melodious and seductive.

'Liam sent a message through the mirror' the blonde servant started, her voice was small, timid even. She was afraid of what she was about to say next.

'And how does this concern me?' her melodious voice rung again in the room. The blonde servant swallowed and tugged at the edges of her dress.

'He said he had seen…Shin' The temperature in the room dropped immediately. The light that once bathed the room started to darken.

'Leave us' The maids working her nails and hair quickly left the room. 'What exactly did he see?' It was understandable she didn't believe her. The blonde lady swallowed again. Even though the temperature had dropped, she felt insanely hot.

'Silver coloured hair' The lady sited at the window, took out the cucumbers that were on her eyes. One could see how unfocused they were. She bit her thumb nail. The blonde servant didn't say another word when her eyes met her mistresses'.

'It's him' When she voiced her conclusion, she realised her aura. A terrifying, bone chilling aura that pushed the blonde servant to the floor in a matter of seconds. She was choking, no matter what she did air didn't enter her lungs, her face was quickly changing colour. Her mistress started pacing around her still biting her nail. The blonde was praying multiple times per second that her lady may withdraw her terrifying aura lest she dies. The blond was on the verge of blanking out when air started flooding her lung again. She hungrily took in air through Both her nose and mouth. Her lady had withdrawn her aura.

'How is he back' she spoke in a chilling calm. The blonde who was now spiralled on the floor didn't answer immediately as she was still taking air in gulps. After getting her breath somewhat steady, she looked up to her mistress but didn't meet her eyes.

'He didn't say' She gasped.

'I doesn't matter either way. Seems I'll be seeing an old friend again' She muttered the last part. Looking at the blonde lay on the floor, she spoke her voice filled with authority.

'Find your brother and find out how he came back' the blonde lady quickly nodded her head and stood up to depart. When she was at the door, her mistress spoke again.

'If possible, kill him' The way she said the last part scared the blonde. She nodded once and with a wave of her lady's hand, she was dismissed. As she left, her lady, that black haired woman with a curvaceous seductive body, with a face covered in green cream walked to the windows and stood there watching. Suddenly, she unleashed her aura and everything in the room cracks and breaks into smooth dust. Nothing is spared. Everything from the curtains to the bed to the floor. She puts her hand where there was once a window, leaning on it for support. Where her hand had been put, started forming cracks and the wall slowly turned to dust.

Her eyes didn't have any anger in them, instead it was filled with fear, hate and an unexplainable expression that bordered insanity. Her grip on the wall. Continued until it crumbled and she almost fell. She had done her best to keep her emotions under control when her servant was around. She didn't want to show her a side of her that she would rather keep under thick wraps. She could have threatened her to keep quite but then again gossip was something even she didn't have the ability to kill. After the wall crumbled, she stood up in a regal manner as if she just didn't destroy the room in a muffled tantrum. She walked out of the room still in a bathrobe. Her destination was a place she never thought she would walk into in a million years.
