Chapter 203 - C203 : Carne Village (5)

"Should we take them out quietly? And opt not to tell the villagers?" Momonga asked, thinking about how to move forward.

"No, we're going to let everyone know, and witness the event." Night Silver replied with a measured tone, one developed over the 600 years she'd been alive in this new world.

Outside of the friend's call, Gazef stood eating a turkey leg as he scanned the entire village. His warrior eyes naturally searched for any vulnerabilities he would have to bolster with defenses in the event that the village suffered another attack. It wasn't easy for him, a trained warrior through and through, to relax under these circumstances… If it wasn't in his own home, and own bed, he'd be incapable of resting.

It was just as his eyes scanned, that he noticed Night Silver, and her friends seemingly communicating with each other for a moment. Huh? That must be some kind of magic, telepathy maybe? The mages have spoken of it in the past.

Night Silver handed the baby back to its birth mother, giving the baby a motherly and tender kiss on its forehead, showing off the nature she held in her very being. Then she gave the mother a kiss on each cheek, and a slightly longer one on the lips. After, the woman smiled, and went back to the others bragging all about how wonderful of a feeling that was.

Then as if striding over like a goddess- she in essence, and practice really was one- night Silver approached Gazef Stronoff, and smiled. His heart raced with a beat he'd not experienced in years, not since he found out how he loved the sword, or maybe it was different, and this was the same kind of respect he felt for the king he pledged his sword to… Only now, it was greater, and towards the goddess who now made eye contact with him, looking at him from a slightly higher stature, for he was indeed a little shorter than she was.

"Gazef, I couldn't help but notice that you alone were scanning the village."

Gazef swallowed his bite of turkey…

"Yes, I was looking for places that may need extra defenses, and thus places to put my men in the event the marauders may come again."

"Good, you're not wrong to think like that. I feel you're worthy… Now, I'll answer that worry with, fact. There is indeed another group coming. It is indeed larger than the one before. But there's no need to fear them-"

"Who would fear anyone, when Mother Nature in the flesh is on their side?"

Gazef said, almost so matter of factly, that depending on the depth of respect someone had for Night Silver, they would react differently. However, Night Silver let out a cute giggle, one that made all men, regardless of age, or relationship status… blush… The women weren't spared this feeling either, as it was just as infectious towards them.

"You're funny, but yes, you're right." She spoke with a calm, and giggly tone. "You and your men should bear witness to this enemy, not because we need you to, but because you must take word of this back to the young one sitting on the throne."

"Goddess Night Silver, allow my men and I to fight."

"I refuse, the best aid you can give me is to take the enemy back as prisoners. And so I won't allow you to risk death."

…

Actively encircling the small outer village was one of the Slane Theocracy's rebuilt scriptures, the Sunlight Scripture. Led by Nigun Grid Luin, his position gave him the honorable title of Lord when others addressed him. These people truly followed their six Great Gods, to the letter, recognizing his placement as just, and ordained by their very gods.

"Lord Nigun, we have nearly finished the encirclement."

"Good, let these fools understand the power of our gods! Let them bleed."

"There is another thing to report…"

"Let it out, the gods will hear our worries, and grant us strength, and miracles to aid us through."

"The villagers, they're having a party of sorts, with an incredible spread of food. And there's reports of a bear-chested elven beauty just dancing and enjoying herself."

"An elf?"

"Yes, my lord."

Nigun smirked, with villainy… This is wonderful. I can even bring home an elven slave for us to ravage beyond measure. Oh, I can't wait! He laughed, raising his arms up to the sky, taking in a deep breath, and then lowering his arms into a wingspan position as he exhaled…

"Today, we fight, and give our thanks to the gods for granting us such a wonderful opportunity!" He relaxed… "Begin the assault."

Mages, angels, and warriors of the Slane Theocracy all began to push their way closer to the village. They strode forward with the confidence of a mis-informed idiot… They thought they had the advantage of surprise… They didn't, not even in the slightest.

From the center of the village, a giant tree rose from the ground, and the villagers were quickly brought inside, all of them climbing up high enough they would be granted a view of the outside.

Sunlight Scripture's men were all left completely stunned as they witnessed what could only be considered a miracle of nature occur, right before their very eyes. The mages knew, not on an intellectual level, rather it was a feeling deep in their guts… That it was incredibly powerful magic.

"What was that!?"

The man who asked, hoping to receive an answer, was fraught with terror, for what responded wasn't any of the voices he knew… It was cold, calculating, and protective.

"That's my spell."

And before any of the Slane Theocracy's forces had managed to realize it, they were dead, or unconscious. Then with magic, she lifted the pile in the air, and then continued on her way.

Nigun stood with his group a little further away from the village, his natural cowardice baked into his bones causing him to stay in a relatively safe place. However, what happened instead, was the shock of a lifetime. For, with piles of dead, and unconscious bodies, they appeared…

"And who might you foolish interlopers be?"

"It doesn't matter, does it?"

"It does."

"Why, so your country can get news of my reappearance?"

"And why would my, the mightiest nation in the world, ever fear you?"

"I am Mother Nature."
