66 CHAPTER 66: HOMECOMING
Later that afternoon, the atmosphere in the hospital room shifted from quiet recovery to pure relief and celebration. The doctor, a tall soft -spoken man with kind eyes, entered with a clipboard and a warm smile.
Mr oluwole, he said, we 've monitored your vitals closely, and everything looks stable now , you are being discharged today.
Madam Fati's hand flew to her mouth in joy. Thank God .
Kofigee jumped up from his seat . Ah , Ah Oga ! We thank the Almighty!
Babatunde clapped his hands, this is the news we've been waiting for. Finally, you can rest at home.
The doctor raised a hand, reminding them gently, But please, Mr oluwole, your medication must be taken seriously. Pain relief, antibiotics and the blood thinner. And very importantly, you need to move around. No sitting in the wheelchair all day, walk as often as you can - slowly, but regularly
Mr oluwole nodded , a small smile on his face. I hear you , doctor. I have had enough of this hospital bed.
Once the doctor left, the room was buzzing with excitement. Madam Fati began packing oluwole's few belongings. Kofigee sorted out the discharge paperwork, and Babatunde went downstairs to coordinate with the hospital administrators.
As they got ready to leave, Oluwole leaned back slightly and looked at them all -his friends, his secret love , his brothers in spirit
You know what? He said you people must spend two more days with me at the house. That's the only way I can thank you properly.
Fati smiled and shook her head, oluwole you don't need to thank us . We are family.
Yes , Kofigee added. But we won't say no to good food and some rest.
They all laughed.
Mr oluwole pulled out his phone and dialed Jamesi, the ever - loyal gatekeeper
Jamesi , he said.
Yes , Oga , came the crisp response.
Are the cleaners done? Is the house in order?
Oga , everything is fine . I have been expecting your call. The house is clean, the rooms are ready, and I have put new bedsheets. Your room self be like hotel.

There was something powerful in those words- not just the idea of leaving the hospital, but the symbolism. It meant survival, healing, a return to normalcy...or maybe even a new beginning.
Madam Fati touched his hand gently welcome back to life oluwole.
