"So let me get this straight—you're telling me you've never stepped outside this damn jungle in your entire life, and yet you're out here killing people who live outside it? Did I hear that right?" Cassian said, genuinely surprised by what Kirja had told him.
She was behind him now as he relaxed in the bath, warm water lapping at the edges. Her chest—buried under thick suds—pressed into his back as she scrubbed, a little rough on purpose. But all Cassian really felt was the soft glide of her skin and the sharp tease of her hardened nipples through the foam.
"Well… yeah," she said quietly. "I was born in one of the tribes here in the jungle. Our ancestors fell under the cult's influence ages ago, so we were basically born as slaves."
