As soon as he arrived at his mansion, Paul rushed to find his ladies.
-Where is Su?
He asked Rina, whom he found in the kitchen.
-She left to visit her parents with Anna, Elaina, and Natalie.
The surprised cook said, sensing that something was wrong, as Paul rarely was in such a hurry and emanating such killing intent as he was now.
-What's going on?
-Su might be in danger, and so are all of us.
Find the rest and tell them to be armed and vigilant at all times.
I'll explain everything later.
For now, just be careful and never go anywhere alone and unarmed.
Rina nodded and rushed to inform the other ladies.
At the same time, Paul focused, trying to sense the tracker that he placed on the four ladies who had gone out.
It only took a moment before he located them, halfway between their mansion and the province lord's mansion, but to his surprise, they were not getting nearer Su's parents' house, but instead were moving fast in the same spot.
As soon as he saw that, he knew they were in trouble, and immediately cast another shadow jump to go help them.
When he arrived, the whole street was empty, except for his four ladies and a group of eight men, attacking them.
The ladies were fighting with all they had, but by the time Paul arrived, Anna was already injured, with an arrow sticking out of her shoulder, and Natalie was holding her hand to her side, as blood seeped through her fingers.
All in all, it looked like they would not last long, but Paul's arrival changed things, and seeing his women injured, he wanted blood.
He arrived behind the attacking men, so taking advantage of that, he rushed and immediately appeared behind the closest opponent.
Without any warning, Paul grabbed the man's head into his hands and twisted it with all his might.
A sound of snapping bones echoed through the street as the attacking men were shocked to see one of them being killed in an instant.
Before they got back to their senses,
Paul took out his sword and, with one move, beheaded another enemy, before launching a lightning bolt from his other hand at another one, hitting him in the chest and leaving burn marks as the lightning went through him like a hot knife through butter.
In less than two seconds, three men died at his hands, and he turned to the next enemy, who by now had gotten over the surprise and parried Paul's sword, only to discover an ice spear piercing his heart.
Using their enemy being focused on Paul, the ladies didn't waste the chance, and Elaina sent an arrow straight into another assailant's eye, ending his life, while Su summoned her fireballs and burnt another one to death a moment later.
Seeing that six of them died in seconds, the last two men turned to run.
-Where the hell do you think you're going?
Paul roared and sent a swarm of lightning hornets after them.
The two men didn't get far before they got zapped and started screaming in agony as more and more hornets found their targets.
-Paul, stop.
Elaina said, seeing that he was planning to torture the two men to death.
-Why should I?
Paul turned to her, but didn't stop sending more lightning hornets at the men.
-Because I want to know who sent them.
Su chimed in.
The ladies wanted to kill these two bastards as well, but first, they wanted to get information out of them.
-Most likely the divine needle sect.
Paul answered, but stopped his attack on the two men who were now lying on the ground and screaming in pain.
-Go tie them up, and make sure they don't kill themselves.
Paul said in such a voice that both ladies swallowed hard.
They never seen him this angry, and they almost pitied the men who attacked them, as angering Paul was a quick way to indescribable suffering.
Elaina and Su quickly tied and gagged the two men to prevent them from swallowing any poison, and for good measure, they took their spatial devices to prevent them from trying anything stupid.
At the same time, Paul rushed to help Anna and Natalie, who were not sitting on the ground, with their backs propped against the wall.
Anna insisted that Paul take care of Natalie first, as her wound was more severe.
Paul agreed, not wanting to waste time arguing.
Natalie had a nasty cut on her right side.
Luckily for the girl, it was shallow and mainly cut her skin and damaged some muscles, but didn't reach her vital organs.
He quickly cast a numbing spell on her, poured some alcohol to disinfect the wound, and cast a healing spell, after which the cut disappeared, leaving only a blood stain and a cut on her dress.
-Don't move for a few minutes.
Paul instructed her before moving to help Anna.
-I never thought I'd be on the receiving end of an arrow.
She tried to smile, but grimaced in pain instead.
-You got lucky, a few centimeters lower, and it would have punctured your lung.
Paul said, after diagnosing the damage the arrow did to her.
He also learned that it was a barbed arrow, so ripping it out was out of the question.
-This will hurt.
He warned her, casting a numbing spell on her, and lifting her back from the wall.
-It's not exactly tickling…
Ahhhh.
She screamed in pain as he pushed the arrow through her, forcing it to exit on the other side, before he broke off the arrowhead and pulled the rest out.
Right the next moment, he was pouring alcohol on the wound, before casting multiple healing spells, to close it.
Anna wanted to ask him why he did that, but the moment she saw the arrowhead in his hand, she understood.
If he tried to rip it out, it would leave a massive hole in her shoulder, taking a good hunk of her body with it.
-You two stay here for now and rest a bit.
Paul instructed the two of them, and the ladies nodded, knowing that it was for their own good.
Only after making sure they were alright, did Paul notice additional bodies lying on the ground.
All together there were eighteen bodies and two captured assailants.
It was also at this moment that a patrol of city guards rushed over, alarmed by someone who saw what was going on.
-What the hell happened here?
An officer asked, looking at the bodies lying on the ground.
Paul and the ladies explained the situation, and the officer never doubted their words, as two of them were the province lord's nephew and daughter.
Moreover, there were still two men who were captured by them and would be interrogated soon, to find out who was behind this.
Paul suggested taking them to the province lord's mansion and promised to personally interrogate the two of them, which made the officer swallow hard as he had seen what Paul could do in the capital.
The officer pitied these two fools for going after Su, and what's more, injuring Paul's women, as it was no secret that Paul was extremely protective of his ladies.
Additionally, Paul asked the officer to send some people to guard the two Gu sisters, as they might be targets as well.
Hearing that, the officer immediately sent two of his men to the address provided by Paul and another one to get reinforcements to both locations, as they needed more people to guard the potential targets, as well as to clear up all the bodies.
