Gu Nanqiao had only been downstairs for a short while before she went back up to her bedroom.
She felt utterly drained and lay down wearily on the bed, closing her eyes to rest.
After a while, she suddenly felt her body being gently nudged by a small hand.
"Chengcheng?" she suddenly realized, the mention of the name dispelling some of the coldness in her heart, and her eyes and brows softened gradually.
Gu Nanqiao opened her eyes, and what caught her gaze was that little figure.
She reached out to touch his head, "Why didn't you go to kindergarten?"
"Today is Saturday, kindergarten is closed." The little guy stared at her speechlessly, and although there was a teasing tone in his voice, he still sat down beside her.
His little legs dangled in the air as he swayed them, "Where's Dad? Didn't you say you'd come back with him?"
"..."
Gu Nanqiao opened her mouth but found she didn't know how to explain.
