"Oh, what's this?" Zhao Xinyan looked at the small dish on the plate, curious, "Is it pickled vegetables?" She has always been particular about food, so it wasn't surprising that she would question the unfamiliar item on her dining table.
"This is made by Auntie Zhang." Lin Xilin explained, picking up a piece and putting it in her mouth.
Zhao Xinyan didn't understand, still trying to recall this name, "Auntie Zhang? Which Auntie Zhang?"
Lin Xilin turned to look at her, "She's the one who cooks for Achen's family. I don't know if you've met her."
Upon hearing the name, Zhao Xinyan immediately put down her chopsticks, "You went to Achen's house today? What for?"
"Nothing much, really. He helped out a lot when dad passed away, and since I had some free time today, I thought I'd visit them." Lin Xilin said while chewing her food.
"Oh." Zhao Xinyan nodded in understanding, lifting her bowl. After a moment, she asked, "How has he been lately? Is he doing well?"
