Zhou Xinyao turned her head to look at her, never expecting La Wei to say something like this.
"You're spouting nonsense." She immediately retorted, "When did I ever do such a thing?"
La Wei looked at her, calm and composed. Compared to Zhou Xinyao, who was bewildered and unable to defend herself against the accusation, she seemed much more collected. After all, she had initiated this situation in the first place, so she had no reason to be flustered.
"You know it yourself."
"I have no idea."
The police officer watched the two of them, as if accustomed to such matters and not finding anything unusual. He propped his head up with one hand, leaning on the table, observing the two women argue incessantly without reaching any conclusion. After a few minutes, he finally decided to stop them.
