"Xu Nian'an—no, Xu bro, why—why are you chasing me? I was just taking a cold bath in the river." Gao Jianshe grinned fawningly, his whole demeanor groveling like a lapdog.
Xu Nian'an didn't say anything, grabbed his foot, and leapt right out of the water. As soon as he was ashore, he yanked Gao Jianshe's shirt open. On his right abdomen, there was a clearly visible wound, not very old by the looks of it.
"Don't—"
Seeing Xu Nian'an staring at his injury, Gao Jianshe stammered, "I just bumped it by accident."
"Ah—"
Before Gao Jianshe could finish, Xu Nian'an's fist crashed down. Pain shot through his belly, so intense it felt like everything inside him was going to get punched right out.
Xu Nianji, who was just arriving, blinked hard and quickly swam over.
Xu Nian'an grabbed Gao Jianshe by the collar and shoved him straight into the water beside them.
"Xu Nian'an, what are you doing?"
