"Hauling goods is a bit tiring, but the pay's good—thirty-five yuan a month. That's five more than working in the factory."
Xu Nianji's words made Zhou Ma's eyes light up instantly. Thirty-five yuan—that's four hundred twenty yuan in a year!
"Alright, alright, I'll go tell Xiaoqiang. Xiaoqiang can definitely do it," Zhou Ma said immediately, not looking down on hauling goods anymore. As long as you can make money, what can't you do?
…
"Mom, hauling stuff is so tiring. Look at my skinny arms and legs—you want to work me to death?"
Zhou Qiang heard it was hauling goods and instantly wasn't happy. No way, he couldn't do it—it was too hard.
"Smack."
Zhou Ma slapped him and said, "Your brother-in-law can do it, so how come you can't?"
"Mom."
Zhou Qiang looked at her, aggrieved and unhappy, and said, "You don't love me anymore."
