"Jianshe, what happened to you?"
"Xu Nianji, Xu Nianhua, what are you doing bullying my Jianshe?" Zhong Juan, with her belly sticking out, saw Gao Jianshe all tied up, his face flushed, looking confused and out of sorts, and he was clearly not acting normal.
Zhong Juan, heavily pregnant, shouted loudly, clearly trying to get justice from Xu Nianji and the others.
"Quit your yelling. Who bullied who isn't clear yet." Xu Nianji frowned, holding his little sister, and moved aside a bit. She was pregnant, and he instinctively wanted to steer clear.
"Nianji, Nianhua, you guys..." Ji Ying had just been watching the commotion with the villagers. There was a circus troupe in the village, and everyone crowded around, fascinated by the animals in cages.
These days, let alone a circus coming to the village—even if a circus or a movie showing rolled into the town or county, it would be a big event. Folks would get their stools ready early and stake out the best spots.
