"Knock knock knock."
The door sounded, and Li Xiuying loudly asked, "Who is it?"
She dragged herself weakly to the door, and upon hearing Xu Nianhua's voice from the other side, she excitedly hurried to open it, immediately smelling the aroma of food.
"My brother said you didn't have dinner, so he asked me to bring you something tasty." Xu Nianhua raised the thermos in her hand and, seeing Li Xiuying still in her pretty dress with messy hair and smelling of alcohol, added, "Hurry and take a shower, then you can enjoy the food later."
"Okay."
Li Xiuying quickly ran to shower, and after getting freshened up, the discomfort from being drunk was much alleviated.
At the dining table, Xu Nianhua took out the dishes from the thermos, layer by layer: stir-fried pork with green peppers, scrambled eggs with tomatoes, stir-fried cucumber with ham, and a seaweed soup. She explained, "I only found out from my brother last minute, so I didn't prepare anything particularly lavish."
