Then, the two got out of the car, and walked up to the Xu Family's iron gate. Seeing Xu Weiji, the butler immediately put down his tools and came to greet him, "Young Master, you're back."
"Is dad at home?" Xu Weiji asked.
"Yes, he's playing chess with your cousin. I'll go inform the master right away."
Sun Ling and Xu Weiji entered through the iron gate, and shortly after, a dignified middle-aged man came out of the house and looked towards Xu Weiji.
The man didn't speak, just stared at Xu Weiji with a mix of many emotions in his eyes, including restraint and anger, and when he finally spoke, his first command was, "Follow me."
Xu Weiji nodded and followed behind the man. Sun Ling intended to follow as well, but was stopped by the butler.
"Miss, our master is taking the Young Master to the ancestral hall. Household matters are inappropriate for you to intervene in. Please, you should leave."
