Before he died, the Elder, having exhausted all his energy, activated the Teleportation Formation and sent Lu Shiqi out of the restricted area.
Because the Elder was in a very bad state when he activated the Teleportation Formation, the force from it threw Lu Shiqi out, causing her to hit a rock and suffer a brain collision that knocked her out.
Lu Shiqi was carried by the waves to the shore, where the seawater washed her up onto the beach, where she encountered her adoptive parents.
Because of the collision, Lu Shiqi lost her memory.
Fortuitously, Lu Shiqi's adoptive parents were unable to have children, and they were overjoyed to find Lu Shiqi, raising her as their own child.
Later, Lu Shiqi's adoptive parents discovered her secret—that whenever Lu Shiqi took a sea bath, she would turn into a Mermaid! Lu Shiqi's adoptive parents refused to take her to the beach ever again.
Fearing that this secret would be exposed.
