Zhang Shaowen had been waiting downstairs for a while. He and Lv Hao had spent half the day discussing how to deal with Zhao Dong. After all, they had both heard snippets suggesting Zhao Dong's current strength was formidable, his combat abilities terrifyingly so.
The two had originally planned to find someone to throw a sack over Zhao Dong's head and break his legs, but after thinking it over, they decided the plan was flawed. They weren't sure they could actually handle Zhao Dong, so they failed to come up with a concrete plan and decided to discuss it again later.
After parting ways with Lv Hao, Zhang Shaowen called Ding Lan several times. When she didn't pick up, he assumed she hadn't gotten off work yet and went to the hospital, only to learn she had left for the day. This made Zhang Shaowen suspicious, so he decided to wait for her downstairs at her apartment building.
