The taxi stopped in front of the Unity Teahouse. Zhao Dong got out but didn't go inside right away. Instead, he stood to the side, lit a cigarette, and smoked it slowly. Nothing seemed amiss inside the Unity Teahouse; there were even a few patrons idly drinking tea and chatting.
His phone rang abruptly. Zhao Dong answered, and Xu Yafei's voice came from the other end. She was speaking quietly, as if secretly calling from hiding.
"Hello? Zhao Dong, Hong Wu asked you to come to the Unity Teahouse. Whatever you do, don't come!"
Zhao Dong raised an eyebrow. "Why not?"
On the other end, Xu Yafei was in an empty private room upstairs, while Hong Wu and his men were in the adjacent room. She peeked carefully out the door, slid the lock into place, and spoke with urgency, "If I'm telling you not to come, just don't! Can't you see this is a trap?"
