Before entering the Divine Domain Fragment, Carl had triple-checked the items for the breakthrough; nothing could go wrong.
There was no problem with the Silence Potion either. Firstly, the Silence Potion came from the Cape family. Secondly, Marian had already brought him to the Magic Forest by then; anything she wanted to do, she surely would have done already. Only the Grin Potion, acquired in the Black Swamp, might be an issue.
"No wonder!" Carl thought. "No wonder Marian's attitude towards me was so bizarre—unnaturally warm, yet she seldom saw me."
Carl continued, "She doesn't care about me, but about this body of mine, or rather, about you, who will replace me! The Grey Robed Wizard, Adison!"
With that in mind, many of the abnormalities made sense.
