Upon hearing this, Witch Linda's expression relaxed slightly, though her true thoughts remained unknown. Carl sighed with resignation. Under someone else's roof, one has to bow their head. They had no chance of winning a fight; stubborn resistance would only result in self-inflicted suffering and change nothing. They could only take it one step at a time.
