Only Arwen's words echoed in his head.

His arms, which were wrapped around her waist, tightened instinctively. And his eyes snapped down at her dress, then back to her back —panic already swirling in his irises, making them go darker.
"Moon …" his voice cracked. "Are —are you sure?" Are you —"
She grabbed his arm, looking like she was resisting the discomfort she was feeling. "Shhh … Quiet!" Her gaze darted to look at the distance where Gianna and Jacob were still dancing. "Take me away quietly."
Aiden frowned, but he didn't argue. Without wasting another second, he wrapped his arms firmly around her as though he feared that even the slightest breeze could harm her now. "Don't move," he whispered, "I will handle it."
Arwen nodded, exhaling in relief.
