"Good answer."
Alexander said, his white eyes dimming and returning to normal. The enforcers were no longer confident in their power. Alex had not touched them, but his means were beyond their understanding.
"Though you replied honestly, I can tell you know about this vile thing happening." Alex continued as if nothing had changed. "What are your thoughts about it, and how did you find out?"
Mike was the one with that information. Knowing that Alex was involved in that situation, he had no issue with revealing it.
"A-a strange energy was felt some time ago, prompting an investigation. It led us to our destination, where we found the mastermind wondering about."
"Oh…" Alexander wasn't too surprised. "Well, I guess it was to be expected. What did you learn about the Veilwalker?"
"He's dead." The reply came fast. "If you wish to know more about that incident, our chief can fill you in." He purposely avoided mentioning Alex's involvement in that incident.
"Chief?"
