Chapter 651 - Chapter 650: The Player Stops Acting Like a Human

Just as he was grumbling, Pei Guang suddenly noticed something odd.

The description of this skill was subtly different. His aura skill used the word "unit," but this skill used "target."

That one word difference made Pei Guang's expression turn serious. He quietly cast the skill again, this time manually selecting a target.

Ten minutes had passed. Yanqing and the others watched him carefully, wondering what he was so deeply focused on. No one dared interrupt, since he clearly looked like he'd had a huge epiphany.

Pei Guang: "Looks like... it works?"

He put his idea into practice—and it worked.

At that moment, Yanqing suddenly felt something was very wrong. His internal organs churned violently, and he felt like he was about to lose control!

Luckily, as a martial artist, he had strong discipline. He clenched, hard, and barely held it in.

But Yanqing knew he couldn't last long. He looked at Pei Guang, face grim: "Sir, forgive me. I'm not feeling well. I'll be taking my leave now. Everyone, farewell!"

Before anyone could react, Yanqing jumped on his flying sword and zipped away. Seeing his hasty departure, Pei Guang's expression grew even more serious.

Because just now, he'd enhanced the stats of one of Yanqing's internal organs. And even that small enhancement had produced such a strong reaction.

He was grateful he hadn't maxed it out, otherwise Yanqing might've literally died today.

But from Yanqing's reaction, Pei Guang confirmed one thing: this skill really was gold-tier. Its restrictions were many—it didn't work on non-living entities, and couldn't deal fatal damage to sufficiently strong targets—but once he adjusted his thinking, he saw its terrifying potential.

"Fuck, that's insane!"

Pei Guang usually didn't swear, but this time, he couldn't help himself. Just imagining the implications of the skill gave him chills.

Seeing Pei Guang like that, Huohuo walked over worriedly: "Ah Guang, are you okay?"

Pei Guang: "I'm fine! Huo Huo, Little Gui, Sushang, you three head back. I've got something to take care of."

He needed to test this skill, and the upcoming tests wouldn't exactly be humane. In order not to scar the girls, Pei Guang went to find someone he knew well.

He found Hanya, and the request he made took her some consideration.

Pei Guang: "I need a few people, ones your Xianzhou Alliance wouldn't mind seeing suffer. No inorganic lifeforms. Any Abominations of Abundance or criminals will do. Don't worry, I won't torture anyone. Just a bit of... experimentation."

After getting permission from the Ten-Lords Commission, Hanya complied.

Coincidentally, they'd just caught a batch of Disciples of Sanctus Medicus on the Luofu. She handed them over.

Some of them had already been corrupted into demonized forms; others still looked human. But all of them had completed interrogation: they just hadn't been executed yet.

They were brought in, and Pei Guang didn't hesitate. He started experimenting.

As soon as they entered his Holy Light's radius, Pei Guang glared at them and activated the skill.

This time, he enabled the visual effects. A wave of divine-looking golden light enveloped the ten-meter area around Pei Guang.

He walked toward the captured Disciples of Sanctus Medicus, ensuring they were fully within the Holy Light's area.

Hanya wondered if Pei Guang was trying to use this holy-looking glow to change their hearts.

At that moment, the captured heretics felt something strange.

The targets chosen by Pei Guang immediately reacted. Their bodies trembled. Some clenched their teeth, some shouted with joy, others wept bitterly.

Their expressions varied wildly.

And then—they lost all bodily control, voiding themselves on the spot. Their bodies collapsed to the ground.

This scene left everyone present frozen. Then, the Ten-Lords officers and even Hanya instinctively stepped back in fear.

One glare from Pei Guang and they all lost bowel control?

That alone would've been terrifying enough, but some had expressions like they'd died from bliss, others looked tortured, while some just seemed overwhelmed with shame and embarrassment?

Seeing all this, even the most seasoned enforcers couldn't help thinking:

Was this "holy light"... poisonous???

Pei Guang didn't notice everyone's reactions, as he was immersed in a strange and marvelous sensation.

At this moment, he was absolutely certain: this skill of his was truly disgusting!

Because just now, Pei Guang had strengthened different organs, tissues, and even cells of these people as individual targets.

For example, increasing intestinal peristalsis speed but not absorption speed, boosting kidney function, speeding up blood flow in some parts while leaving others unchanged, or enhancing the transmission of nerves related to pleasure or pain.

When the whole body is strengthened, the person just feels stronger overall—but partial enhancements? That's terrifying.

As long as someone has bladder or bowel functions, Pei Guang could make them lose control. And that's the mildest case. Uneven strength distribution could cause cramps, twisted ankles, even tissue necrosis from unbalanced blood flow.

And that's just the basic stuff.

If Pei Guang really wanted to go overboard: things like testicular torsion, uncontrollable blinking, spontaneous engorgement, or ten periods a second… he could make it happen.

Fortunately, he promised not to torture people, otherwise, these victims wouldn't just be collapsed on the floor.

Even with a duration of only ten seconds, under such terrifying enhancement, those ten seconds could already produce horrifying effects.

Plus, this skill was just way too versatile!

Boosting specific attributes for teammates, inflicting debuffs on enemies, or even, when facing enemies like Phantylia, stimulating them to generate more materials, giving him more loot.

Just for that alone, this skill already qualified as a proper gold-tier skill.

Though it wasn't as explosively destructive as Savory Truefire, it had low energy cost, extremely nasty debuffs, and even helped improve resource drops.

It was just... incredible.

And at that moment, Pei Guang finally understood why the note at the bottom said: "When using Holy Light, please act like a human."

Because once this skill was used, he was definitely not acting like one.

But now that he had the skill, of course he was going to use it.

What, was he supposed to just hold onto it for decoration?

Pei Guang started trembling with excitement. He wanted to go wild with this skill!

But since the system did give a reminder to act like a person, then... he'd at least say something appropriate?

Thinking wasn't enough: he had to make a declaration.

"I will protect this world!!!" Pei Guang shouted a line that sounded incredibly noble.

He yelled a slogan that sounded nothing like the actions he was taking, and just as he did, everyone in Penacony and everyone en route to Penacony shuddered at the same time.
