Chapter 312 - Chapter 312: Danzō, Acting Hokage

"Shion?"

The name was catchy and beautiful, sounding more like a girl's name than Miroku. Shion chewed on the name in her mouth a few times.

"Shion is the name of a flower, and its flower language is 'wit'.

"The impression people have of Priestesses is mostly calm and quiet. It's not that this is bad, but personally, I hope girls can be a bit more lively.

"After all, bearing the mission of a Priestess is very heavy."

"Shion, huh..."

Shion mumbled, seriously considering the matter: "It sounds like a good name."

Tōshirō glanced sideways, chuckling inwardly.

Shion was actually the name of Miroku's daughter...

As soon as they left the shrine, Tsunade came forward to ask about the sealing: "Is everything handled?"

Tōshirō nodded, his gaze shifting to the effeminate-looking man beside her. Seeing that he was safe and sound, a happy smile appeared on his face: "Orochimaru, you're alright!"

Orochimaru cast a grateful look: "Thanks to your timely appearance this time..."

"Don't say that. If you hadn't indulged my recklessness, you wouldn't have been in danger."

Tōshirō said with a hint of guilt.

He recalled the last time he was reckless, he almost put his companions in danger too.

Three strikes and you're out. Tōshirō decided he wouldn't do such things again in the future.

...

After resting for a day in the Land of Demons, Tōshirō and the others bid farewell to Priestess Shion and returned to Konoha.

"Finally back."

Stepping into the village territory, Tōshirō thought about slipping away: "Tsunade, I'll leave the mission report to you. I'm not going."

After his Sharingan ability was exposed, Tōshirō's relationship with Hiruzen Sarutobi changed subtly.

Looking at Hiruzen Sarutobi made him feel awkward, like he was sitting on pins and needles.

Unless it was a special circumstance, Tōshirō was now basically too lazy to meet Hiruzen Sarutobi. Usually, Orochimaru or Tsunade were enough to handle mission reports.

So, he wouldn't go see Hiruzen Sarutobi now, to avoid the awkwardness.

Anyway, his lax attitude in the village was "well-known," so no one would say anything about him being too lazy to report, they were even used to it.

"You're slacking off again."

Tsunade put her hands on her hips, speaking in a scolding tone.

"What does it matter? Anyway, I've completed the mission perfectly."

Tōshirō, relying on his distinguished military achievements, waved his hand, looking confident: "Besides, for things like mission reports, don't you two handle it?

"My standing there wouldn't change anything. Rather than wasting time like that, I'd rather get some sleep and replenish my energy."

Tōshirō always found excuses to slack off. Tsunade shook her head, sighed, feeling helpless to have such a boyfriend.

Normally, Tōshirō, as the main force, should be present, even if he didn't report the mission himself.

Just as she was about to say a few more words, a scream came from nearby: "Tōshirō-senpai..."

Looking in that direction, there were a few good-looking girls, roughly the same age as Tsunade herself.

They called out "Tōshirō-senpai" while approaching, and in front of her, very familiarly, linked their arms with her boyfriend, pressing against his chest.

Because of Tōshirō's outstanding performance on the battlefield and his repeated achievements, the villagers quickly accepted and acknowledged him. Among them, the girls particularly admired Tōshirō for his handsome appearance.

Seeing her boyfriend finally accepted by the village and the estrangement gone, this should have been a good thing, but the problem was, weren't these women overdoing their admiration?

Look at these women, acting like lovesick fools—no, like seductive vixens.

Tsunade's eyebrows furrowed slightly, her expression displeased.

Well, well.

Flirting with her man right in front of her.

As if she were invisible.

Unable to bear it any longer, Tsunade's expression turned fierce, and she raised her voice, "Hey, you lot!"

The woman clinging to Tōshirō's left arm looked surprised: "Ah, it's Tsunade-senpai. What are you doing here?"

Tsunade was so angry that her eyebrows shot up, fuming: "I've been here all along, alright!"

"..."

Another woman clinging to Tōshirō's right arm, feigned tenderness: "Wow~ your girlfriend is so fierce. She doesn't understand how to care for her 'older brother'. Tōshirō-nii, why don't you consider getting a new girlfriend?"

The girls in the village were overly enthusiastic, and Tōshirō found it hard to decline: "That wouldn't be good. I'm not a philandering man."

Tōshirō said this, but his expression clearly enjoyed being surrounded by women.

Tsunade retorted: "Since you know that, then how long are you going to keep hanging around with these women?"

One woman teased: "Tsunade, why are you so agitated? We're just talking to Tōshirō, we're not going to kidnap him."

Another woman chimed in: "Exactly, exactly."

Tsunade watched Tōshirō getting entangled with these women, refusing to draw a clear line, and her anger flared. She snorted coldly and gave him a cold shoulder: "Orochimaru, Jiraiya, let's go."

With that, she left Tōshirō with her beautiful back, letting him figure it out himself.

When she finished reporting, if Tōshirō was still entangled with these little vixen, he would be in for a treat.

She walked a few steps, then realized someone was missing. She looked back and saw Jiraiya standing still, looking at Tōshirō with an envious expression.

Tsunade scoffed: "Men..."

Then, with a hint of disdain, she walked away.

Tōshirō still knew his limits. He coughed twice and distanced himself from these girls.

A harem was something to dream about, nothing more.

Tsunade would never allow him to have other women.

Besides, if he really wanted a harem, he could have Tsunade use multiple Shadow Clones, and then have them wear different uniforms (in brackets).

That's what you call the Harem Jutsu, the true Harem Jutsu.

One girl pouted slightly: "Tōshirō, you're really heartless."

Tōshirō chuckled: "I'm sorry, but I already have a lady."

The girl who spoke to him was Yamanaka Aika, with golden hair and a pretty face.

From her name, one could tell she was from the Yamanaka clan. She had a younger brother named Yamanaka Inoichi. That might sound unfamiliar, but saying he was Ino's future father makes it more recognizable.

Aika hadn't just recently fallen for Tōshirō; she had been quite interested in him since their student days. Yes, they were actually classmates.

Aika's eyes curved into a smile, and she chuckled: "Then I can just transplant myself in."

Tōshirō: ...

From Aika, Tōshirō felt like he was seeing a copy of himself.

At this moment, Jiraiya approached, acting mischievous and offering himself: "If Tōshirō doesn't like you, you can consider someone else."

Aika's mouth twitched: "That person wouldn't happen to be you, would it?"

Jiraiya replied: "Yes, it is."

Aika was amused: "If you were as handsome as Tōshirō, I might consider you."

Jiraiya didn't like hearing that.

Tōshirō handsome my foot...

Alright, he did seem to be quite good-looking.

Although Jiraiya didn't want to admit it, he had often heard comments about Tōshirō's good looks since childhood.

Of course, he would never admit such things.

"Hmph, Tōshirō handsome my ass."

Aika teased: "Don't you think Tōshirō is handsome?"

"No, I don't."

Jiraiya shook his head in denial, glancing sideways: "If you had three Kekkei Genkai, wouldn't you be handsome?"

This was Jiraiya's last stubbornness. Tōshirō found Jiraiya quite humorous. While Jiraiya and Aika were bickering, he disappeared from the spot and headed towards the Uchiha clan's district.

On the other side, Tsunade and Orochimaru walked towards the Hokage's office building, preparing to report the mission to Hiruzen Sarutobi.

The door was closed. Out of politeness, Tsunade knocked twice.

A moment later, a low voice came from inside the room.

Tsunade was startled; it wasn't Hiruzen Sarutobi's voice that responded to her.

She glanced at Orochimaru.

Orochimaru shook his head, indicating he didn't know.

Holding onto this doubt, Tsunade turned the doorknob and entered the Hokage's office.

Inside the room, there was only one man, standing with his hands behind his back, his back to the two, looking out the window.

Just by his back, Tsunade knew the person in front of her was not Hiruzen Sarutobi.

At that moment, the man, sensing their arrival, slowly turned around, revealing his appearance: his face wrapped in bandages, a stern expression, and only one eye visible.

His gaze was unlike Hiruzen Sarutobi's gentle one; it was very sharp.

Tsunade recognized this person. He held a high position in the village, second only to her sensei.

It was none other than Danzō, who rarely showed himself.

"How could it be you? Where's Sensei Hiruzen?"

Danzō's lips curved into a smile: "Hiruzen is injured. I am now serving as Hokage."

Tsunade: ??? Orochimaru: ??? Danzō added: "Acting Hokage."
