Beyond the glass, the ocean continued its slow dance of light and shadow. An occasional fish drifted close enough to the window that she could see the flicker of its scales before it vanished again into the blue. Sunlight shifted through the water in constant, liquid patterns, painting the suite in soft, moving bands of gold and turquoise.
Gradually the last of the restlessness eased from her shoulders. She ate, watched the water, and let the peaceful atmosphere of the underwater suite settle around her once more. The room was still beautiful, still private, still theirs—but now, at least, she had something concrete to look forward to.
Once breakfast was finished, she would finally step out of this carefully sealed world and into the open air of the resort above.

After breakfast, Tang Fei stepped into the walk-in closet and selected a light sundress in a soft coral shade, the fabric cool and fluid against her skin as she slipped it on.
