"You're not going to apologize?"
The Sarutobi clan servant was stunned. No one had ever dared to speak to him like that—so directly and so confidently.
Only then did he truly look at Uchiha Genya.
Suddenly,
Their eyes met. Especially those eyes—those unmistakable Dual Pupil.
The heir of the Uchiha clan. And the future clan head.
Damn it. How could Lord Konohamaru have bumped into him?
That thought sparked a vague sense of dread in his heart. Today… might not end well.
"Uchiha Genya?" the man asked tentatively. Then he added, "Let's just let this matter go. No one was hurt. Lord Konohamaru and I will take our leave."
"No way I'm letting it go like that!" Konohamaru immediately shook his head. "He dared to bump into me, I'm gonna beat him up!"
He was still young, and he'd never encountered someone who ran into him and didn't immediately apologize.
Uchiha Genya was the first!
Heh.
Interesting.
It seemed the events of this life were already diverging from his past life.
This time, Naruto Uzumaki wasn't as much of a troublemaker, nor was he especially close to Hiruzen Sarutobi.
As a result, he never crossed paths with this Konoha little tyrant.
Clearly, this brat had never been properly disciplined. He had never suffered real consequences.
Genya couldn't help but wonder—what kind of power made even a child from the Sarutobi clan act so high and mighty?
Even when they were in the wrong, others had to apologize to them?
"Heh. Just what I wanted," Genya smiled, looking at the arrogant Konohamaru. "Since you bumped into me, you should apologize. If not... then don't even think about leaving."
"Ptui! You want me to apologize to you?" Konohamaru spat at the ground and glared at Genya. "I'm gonna beat you up, you Dual Pupil freak!"
But—
The ninja behind him quickly grabbed him and held him back, afraid Konohamaru would act on impulse.
Genya of the Uchiha clan didn't care about Konohamaru's identity. The Uchiha Police Force had already arrested plenty of troublemaking members from ninja clans in recent years.
And among them… quite a few had been from the Sarutobi clan.
Bang.
Suddenly, a loud slap landed squarely on Konohamaru's face. Uchiha Genya's cold voice followed right after.
"Since no one taught you manners, I guess I'll have to."
"A brat with such a foul mouth... what kind of man will you grow up to be?"
Genya's voice was lazy and indifferent.
"Ahh! You monster! How dare you hit me! I'll ruin you, I'll destroy you!" Konohamaru froze from the slap for a second, then erupted in fury. "You ******!"
He howled at Genya, flailing wildly.
The words spilling from his mouth became nastier and nastier, and his bloodshot eyes glared straight at Genya.
Looking at him now... it was clear this kid had never been disciplined by his clan.
With that kind of arrogance, it was no wonder. Clearly, Hiruzen Sarutobi hadn't done much to discipline his grandson either.
"Uchiha Genya! Must you go this far?" shouted the servant assigned to care for Konohamaru. His face twisted in anger as he stepped forward.
"How dare you strike the Hokage's grandson! Aren't you afraid of sparking conflict between the Sarutobi and Uchiha clans?"
Yet even as he scolded Genya, there was wariness in his eyes.
He hadn't even seen how Genya struck. The speed was beyond him.
Realizing this, he tugged Konohamaru back several meters, instinctively putting distance between them and Genya.
"Conflict?" Genya let out a calm, careless chuckle. "What conflict?"
"He bumped into me and didn't apologize. Then he insulted me. I merely gave him a little lesson on how to behave. Otherwise, he'll suffer far worse in the future."
"You... you..." The servant's mouth opened and closed as he struggled for words. He didn't know how to respond.
He wanted to say, "That's the Hokage's grandson—how could he suffer any loss?"
But just as the words reached his mouth, he swallowed them back.
Everyone understood that fact, but saying it aloud was too brazen. It would only bring trouble and criticism to the Hokage.
At that moment, the struggling Konohamaru finally realized he might not be a match for Genya.
He turned back to his servant and shouted, "Aren't you supposed to be strong? Go beat him up for me!"
"Whichever hand he used to hit me—cripple it!"
Relaxing slightly, he began pounding on the servant who had been taking care of him.
He knew that now, only his servant could avenge him.
"Lord Konohamaru..." the servant hesitated.
After all, Uchiha Genya was the young heir of the Uchiha clan.
If he laid a hand on Genya, the consequences could be severe.
"Are you going or not?" Konohamaru glared furiously at him.
"If you don't go, I'll tell my grandfather that you just stood there watching while I was getting beaten!"
His tone grew more and more aggressive.
"Hurry up and cripple him!"
"Go now!"
Konohamaru became increasingly arrogant, while the servant beside him grew more and more solemn.
"Uchiha Genya, I'm sorry," the servant said gravely.
"But since it's Lord Konohamaru's order, I have no choice but to break your arm. I'll take full responsibility."
He stood up and moved Konohamaru gently to the side, his expression darkening.
He took a step toward Genya.
As a jonin, crippling Genya should have been an easy task.
"Genya, I'll help you!"
Hinata had already sensed the seriousness of the situation and stepped forward, trying to shield Genya.
Shino Aburame also came to his senses.
Staggering, he tried to move in front of Genya as well.
Right now, he was closely tied to Genya and couldn't just let him get hurt.
But in the eyes of the servant, the two of them posed no threat at all.
"If either of you dares to take another step, I won't hesitate to kill you."
Just then, a cold voice rang out.
Suddenly—
A blade appeared behind the servant, resting silently on his shoulder.
In an instant—
The servant froze mid-step, not daring to move forward.
Slowly, he turned his head and saw a man in Uchiha clan robes standing behind him. The man's expression was cold and stern, and his fingers gripped the handle of his blade with quiet intensity.
The servant could tell—if he made one wrong move, he'd lose his head.
"Uncle Shin, you're just in time," Genya said with a faint smile, turning slightly. "This guy was about to attack me in the street."
The man who had arrived was none other than Uchiha Shin. His chakra felt stronger than ever, though his face looked pale—almost sickly.
That was a side effect of practicing the Eight Branches Technique, as well as fusing Uzumaki cells into his body. But unlike Orochimaru's corpse-like skin, Shin's complexion still had a trace of life.
"Heh…" Shin scoffed, voice low and cold. "You've got some nerve, huh? You dared to lay a hand on the heir of the Uchiha Clan in broad daylight?"
Genya didn't respond to the servant. Instead, he walked toward Konohamaru, his expression turning cold.
"You tried to cripple my arm just now, didn't you?" he said quietly. "Not going to apologize?"
"W-What are you trying to do?" Konohamaru began to panic. "My grandfather is the Hokage!"
"Exactly." Genya snorted. "Because your grandfather is the Hokage, I have to teach you a proper lesson."
Without warning, he slapped Konohamaru hard across the face, then grabbed his arm.
Crack.
A sickening sound echoed through the street as Konohamaru's arm broke. He let out a blood-curdling scream.
Smack! Smack!
Two more slaps landed across his face.
"Shut up," Genya said coldly. "Scream again, and I'll break your other arm."
"Uchiha Genya! That's the Third Hokage's grandson! How dare you harm him!" the Sarutobi servant roared, still pinned by Uchiha Shin.
If he'd known this would happen, he would have dragged Lord Konohamaru away much earlier.
"I'm simply teaching him a lesson on behalf of the Third Hokage," Genya said, his voice like ice. "If it were someone else in my place today, that arm would already be gone. Your Sarutobi clan has grown far too arrogant."
He turned to Uchiha Shin.
"Uncle Shin. Cripple one of his arms. Then let them leave."
Uchiha Shin didn't hesitate. He also crippled one of the servant's arms and told them to leave.
"Uchiha Genya, Uchiha Shin, just wait. I will report this matter to the Hokage!" The man broke free from his restraints, ignoring his broken arm, picked up the injured Konoha Maru, and left.
"What bad luck..." Genya watched the man's retreating back, then clapped his hands and headed toward the mission desk building ahead.
Inside the mission desk building.
Meeting with Kurenai, they walked into the building together.
"Uchiha Genya." The two troublemakers, upon seeing Genya arrive, first showed anger, then their eyes revealed joy.
"Time to take a mission!" Now Genya was almost leading the group. He stepped forward and talked with them.
One of them flipped through the papers and finally pulled out a mission: "There aren't many beginner tasks lately. There's a 'C' rank escort mission you can take."
With that, he placed a 'C' rank mission in front of them.
