Chapter 3 - **Chapter 3: Mastering the Vertical Maneuvering Equipment**

"This is the Vertical Maneuvering Equipment," Kiba murmured, feeling a rush of excitement despite the dire situation. However, he couldn't help but question whether he truly had the ability to control it.

Tiger, as if sensing everyone's doubts, casually picked up a piece of the Vertical Maneuvering Equipment and tossed it directly to Kiba, bypassing the others.

This action caused a shift in the atmosphere. The fat man's expression darkened with displeasure, while the young man with fire abilities gave Kiba a friendly nod. The most notable reactions, however, came from the three other long-range specialists who had been marginalized earlier. Their faces were marked with clear signs of negative emotions.

Kiba observed all of this silently, choosing not to interrupt but instead patiently waiting for the next part of Tiger's explanation.

"To ensure the survival rate of newcomers, the trial scenarios typically offer some form of advantage. Now, open your personal panels and check the skills section; you should find your answer there," Tiger instructed.

Following Tiger's guidance, Kiba silently summoned his personal panel in his mind.

**[Personal Information]**

**[Attributes]**

**[Skills]**

Three collapsible sections that can be opened as needed.

"Let's check out the personal information first," he thought.

**Name:** Kiba

**ID:** 14552

**Rank:** None

**Merit:** 0

**Story Points:** 0

**Attribute Points:** 0

**Story World:** 0

**Title:** None

A very simple interface, but he could still gather quite a bit of information from it.

Especially the title—completing those earlier achievements should unlock the corresponding title.

It would definitely be very helpful for his mission journey.

"Next up, attributes."

**Health:** 49/50

**Status:** Injured

**Strength:** 6

**Constitution:** 5

**Agility:** 5

**Spirit:** 12

**Perception:** 10

Focusing his thoughts, each attribute would display a line of explanatory text.

Strength is related to melee combat and carrying capacity and also determines the threat level of certain melee skills.

Agility is similar, while Constitution determines physical defense and health, basically your Constitution attribute multiplied by 10 equals the reincarnator's personal health bar.

Spirit is more complex; it can be used for detection, boosting the power of spirit-based skills, and most skills require it to be consumed.

If your Spirit is exhausted, you might fall into a coma or even suffer brain death.

Perception is essentially a combination of your five senses. Like just now, the reason Kiba was able to avoid the giant's swat was that he perceived the opponent's intent to attack in advance.

Ranged attacks require Perception as an aid, and some summoning abilities also need Perception to communicate with contracted beasts.

It seems unimportant, but in reality, it's a crucial attribute that cannot be ignored.

In addition, Luck and Charisma are hidden attributes, and Kiba doesn't really understand their specific effects.

The average attribute for a normal adult is 5, and his Spirit and Perception stand out significantly. Kiba quietly guessed that it might be due to him devouring the original owner's soul.

The innate ability hasn't refreshed yet, which means the impact of this event could be greater than he initially thought.

"And finally, the skill tab."

**Active Skills:** None

**Passive Skills:** None

**Basic Skills:** ODM Gear Control LV1 (Temporary)

**Traits:** *** (Generating), Artistic Aura

**Items:** None

*[Artistic Aura: You are a manga artist. Maybe not a great one, but it still adds a touch of artistic flair to you.]*

*[Trait Effect: Charisma +1, innate favorability of artistic plot characters +20]*

"I'm not a bad artist, I'm just unrecognized."

So, it seems that the Artistic Aura trait came with him. What qualified the original owner to be chosen by the Reincarnation Space?

No skills at all; that means he was probably a weakling in real life.

The only explanation lies in that mysterious innate trait.

"Let's hope you don't disappoint me."

Having acquired the temporary ODM Gear Control skill, he wasn't fully familiar with the device, but at least he had the same level of proficiency as someone who had been practicing for three months.

Skillfully securing it around his waist signaled that the reincarnators were about to embark on their mission.

Even though he was incredibly nervous, Kiba's heartbeat remained unusually steady. He didn't even know why his body was so calm.

"One last tip for you all." Pressing the trigger on the handle, the machine at his waist fired sharp anchors that embedded into the distant eaves. "For newcomers, courage is the most important thing. Remember, those who are afraid of death often die faster."

With the sound of gas jets, their guide, Tiger, was the first to rush out.

Seeing this, someone finally couldn't help but complain, "What the hell, they're not concerned about whether we live or die."

Using the implanted operational knowledge, Kiba tried to shoot out the grappling hooks. His strong Perception allowed him to quickly lock onto suitable shooting points.

"There's no specific quantity requirement written, which means you only need to transport the supplies once to complete the main task."

But is that really the right approach? The guide's last words could be interpreted as needing courage to survive, but Kiba thought it had another layer of meaning.

Those afraid of dying might complete it once and then find a place to hide.

Maybe they'll survive, but what about the next story world?

Even Tiger said the first world was a trial story, and its difficulty is much lower than usual.

It's easy to muddle through, but in the future story worlds without the space's favor, the death rate of these cowards might be terrifyingly high.

Kiba's palm clenched and then relaxed several times. He took a deep breath, grabbed a supply box, and leaped out of the building.

The belts of the gear were secured to various parts of his body, dispersing his weight evenly. By controlling the belts around his waist, legs, and feet, he could continuously adjust his posture in the air.

"This is freaking thrilling." Kiba's eyes widened as he enjoyed the suffocating sensation of the wind whipping past his face.

The environment was full of dangers; during his glide, he had to constantly adjust his landing points. Anyone else might have been flustered, but he could even spare the focus to think about the plot.

The fall of Trost District was caused by the deliberate destruction of the colossal titan, who kicked a massive hole in the wall.

After the Eren incident, smart people probably figured out that the colossal titan was also a human in disguise, but without any clues, there was no way to track them down.

So here's the question: if he voluntarily identifies the three Marleyan warriors, could he receive some high-level mission rewards?

Of course, baseless accusations might backfire, and he could even be falsely accused himself. He would need to have solid evidence.

"Ah, help!!!"

A piercing scream rang out. In a hurry, Kiba turned to look and saw a newcomer being chased by a titan.

A titan with a bizarre appearance, crawling on all fours!
