Morning arrived quietly at the estate, but the peace did not last long.
"MASTER! XIAO HUO HAS DESTROYED THE SAMPLE GARDEN!"
Romi's voice rang through the mansion's internal speakers with an urgency that would have been appropriate if the estate were under attack.
Rong Jingyu, who had been reading through the previous night's notes, slowly lifted her head.
She stared at the ceiling.
Then she closed the document on her tablet, placed it on the desk, and took a deep breath.
"Romi."
"Yes, Master?"
"Tell me that you are joking."
"I do not joke about damaged property, Master."
"Of course you don't."
"The estimated damage is three flowerpots, two young flowering plants, and one irrigation line."
Jingyu rose from her chair.
"What about the fragrance samples?"
"They remain secure in the development room."
She relaxed slightly.
"And Xiao Huo?"
"Currently hiding inside a storage basket."
Jingyu walked toward the door.
